I was washing my car at a friends house today. After I cleaned up the wheels, I kept thinking the car looks better without the hubcaps. Looks more utilitarian and meaner. What do you think? Enjoy some more candid photos from today.

I didn't even realize you had hubcaps on there. I like the look of the steelies, though.

Up until now I thought they didn't look that good. White with silver didn't really go together. I thought if the car was a color, the steelies would look much better.

Definitely a more vintage racer-y vibe. SO many turn signals!

Ya I can understand the lack of contrast. I'm a massive fan of steelies haha I can't think of a car I wouldn't put them on so I'm a bit biased.

US mandated reflectors. I wish they weren't on there. The rear side one's are the only ones that light up.

Same. Much rather see a G Wagon with steelies than chrome wheels. Hate to say it, but somehow chrome has gone out of style, again.

Totally agree. I've really grown to dislike chrome recently. I only like it in small, tasteful doses.

I have no idea why people chrome wrap their cars. Way too much. A few accent pieces, that's all.

The steelies have my vote! They have a strong smell of utilitarian authenticity.

Ahh, got 'cha. Yes, I had a blast today. The guys I met were awesome. Both going over my car and telling me things I should/could fix. They recommended I put the weber 32/36 on. I don't have the intake for it, but they both said they have extras they would give me. Awesome people. The blue one is running dual webbers and the red one has a 1.8 FI out of a later 3 series.

Rogers Tii, Pelican, Rockauto, Bav auto, Ireland, and BMW classic. When you buy, hit bmw2002faq for EVERYTHING. It has everything and if you have a question there are plenty of people that will answer you.

The only steel wheels I've thought that were great or even good looking was for the Ford Focus mk2. Five spoke black steel rims that look great without a wheel trim or made the wheel look like an alloy wheel when the trim was on.
