So my buddy's dad is looking to replace his Porsche 928 with another fun car, and I was wondering if you helpful folks at Oppositelock could give him a hand with recommendations. The price range is around $40k CDN, and probably preferred to be European, although I'll take any recommendations. The dad is currently looking at some BMWs, and I recommended an Elise (because when making sports car purchases, might as well make the best worst decisions).
Any ideas?

Based on the assumption that your friend's dad wants something faster than his 928, doesn't mind the maintenance, and likes Porsche in general a 993 or 996 is a logical choice. If he's okay with something slower a 911SC is another obvious choice. You won't lose money on a 911 unless it's a 997 or 991 and they're becoming harder and harder to find in unmolested unrestored condition.
