"Frank Grimes" (FrankGrimes)

I dont even know who senna is or what he has done to make people love him so much.
I watched him drive a NSX in loafers and saw a photo of him driving a Marlboro F1 car so I assumed he raced cars, but other than that no idea. I think maybe I should do some reading.
For the record I dont follow F1 or have I ever watched it. It seems boring.

Check on Velocity if you get that network. They have been playing the movie for a little while.

I'm in the same boat. Not real interested in learning more either.
Well let me change that a little. I know a little more about him probably, but still, not sure of why the hero worship exists.

I don't think hero worship is the correct phrase to describe Senna. I think it is respect in this case and he's worthy of the respect people show him. To give you an idea he set pole at Monaco in 1988 that was 1.4s faster than his teammate and 2.7s faster than the 3rd fastest qualifer. His teammate had equal equipment and he beat him by more than 1 full second. That's unheard of. Monaco is a true drivers track and his teammate that he beat by 1.4s was regarded as the master at that track. He is arguably the best Grand Prix driver in history and he was a good human being. (see the race he stopped his car and got out to help a fellow driver who crashed and was in need of immediate attention.)

He raced cars and talked about Jesus a lot, so I assume he competed in NASCAR.

I can understand respect.
And forgive me. My head hurts. I am hungry. I am being forced to go to a company/social function by my boss. So I am in a bit of a foul mood.

Rent it on Amazon instant video for $1 or $2 or if you have prime it might be free. It is worth watching.

To me, this is like saying: "Who is this Jesus guy everybody's talking about?"
I am an atheist, and Ayrton (pronounced 'Yairton' btw) is the closest my mind can get to a supernatural force, an ethereal being. Just plain better than his peers.
Also, because qualifying.

A 4' 7" Arab Jew. Looks like super mario. Apparently he was a carpenter or something.

this is a very unpopular opinion but I tried to watch Senna and couldn't get through it. I like my documentaries with either a narrator or talking heads - found footage only works when you're dealing with a single event, IMO.
I've also never watched F1. It seems to be for very rich people, I find the surgical precision of the cars to be kind of boring, and I'm not about to get up at 4 in the morning or whatever to watch all the international races

yeah I am much the same way in regards to F1 I never pay for cable and they never show it really so I dont go out of my way to watch it. plus if there are no american drivers I have no one to root for. Nor have I owned any cars from the manufacturers who race.

I try a catch F1 off of BBC IPLAYER that helps get around the time zones. You can root for the manufacturer or a driver.
I didn't know too much until I watched the documentary. One of the best drivers ever, died in his prime at Imola. Seemed like a great guy, really championed safety for drivers. Who knows how many more he could have won.

You, sir. are banished to the video library for 2 hours. Watch Senna on Velocity tonight. Fantastic video of how he could apex to within millimeters of a barrier. This is an example of his ability, and there are many more.

I watched it last night. Senna movie that is. I fell asleep like 3 times. Also I was really really bummed out when ratzenburger died and then senna dies. Still bummed out seeing them just lying there on the track motionless.
