So you can clearly see why we didn't put one in the 2015 model. I mean, I understand where you Jalops are coming from. Really I do. But we must turn a profit as an automotive organization. We can't afford to sell 0 of the cars we make, no matter the division. Maybe we can work something out next year...but probably not.

Maybe Chevy bringing over the manual SS will cause Dodge to throw the 6 speed from the Challenger in the Charger.

I agree. This is particularly annoying because they already have all the bits to make this work save for a little longer prop shaft since the Challenger's WB is a little shorter than the Charger's... Very annoying.

Chevy? SS? What's this? We don't have any sales data matching those terms. Really now, we can't be expected to govern our organization based on imaginary data can we?
You sound like that guy who tried to tell me that many more cars get sold than what appears on our sales reports. Can't believe he accused us of cooking our books like that. I showed him the door immediately, giving him no time to explain exactly what it is he meant.

What people will say they will buy on the internet and what they actually buy in person are two very different things.

I would be in the market for a manual equipped Charger. Granted, I'll most likely buy a manual equipped Challenger instead, but the people I haul around would greatly appreciate the extra doors and I would greatly appreciate rowing my own.

No common interface for auto and manual? Hell, GM had common splines/yokes on manual and stick setups in the *70s*. I guess, though, that modern JIT design-for-application frowns on clever parts-sharing when it matters, more's the pity.

I'm very interested in the 2015 Charger R/T Road & Track. If there's a smidgen of possibility of getting a 6 speed from the Challenger, then I'll gladly hold out for that. I'll put a deposit down if needed.

It's even more annoying than that... They sell the Challenger on the SAME platform (shorter wheelbase) with the SAME engine and an MTX... All of the parts are compatible except they might need a longer prop shaft only due to the wheelbase difference. They are just 'differentiating' their product mix... Poorly, I might add.

If I could be interested in the new Darger, that would be the exact model I'd be purchasing.

I was curious as to whether they *did* need a different driveshaft for mtx/atx - I was inferring from your comment that they did (which is more likely than not, but grating). Obviously there might be a few interior pieces to shuffle, but seriously.

Our data show's it's quite a bit worse than that. I mean, zero people purchased a manual charger from us last year. Zero. Same thing the year before that. I'm sorry folks, but the numbers - or in this case, the lack of them - don't lie. Until someone buys some manual chargers from us, we have no reason at all to offer a manual charger.

It's like people complaining that Subaru stopped offering the Forester XT with a manual. The take rate on those was less than 5%!

The Challenger back seats are plenty roomy. Your friends can deal with the doors.

Friends, I'm not worried about. The in laws, however...

In laws? The trunk is pretty roomy too.

LOL they're actually rather nice people. One of our regular duties is shuttling them to and from the airport. Father in law isn't exactly a small guy (not exactly a medium guy either) and I think he's starting to... dislike our Focus. His recent health problems only exacerbate the fact that he can barely get in or out of the stupid thing.
Thankfully, mother in law is small (like, really small) so even if we have to push the seat back all the way, she'll still fit in the Challenger.

Can your father in law ride shotgun? My mother in law has no problem scampering into the back of my mustang which is tiny compared to the challenger.

That's the plan. Men up front, ladies in the back. I do like the Challenger's copious trunk space, too.
When we were looking at the 2014s, I badly wanted the Charger more than the Challenger. Now with the refresh, I'll happily take the Challenger instead. I get no emotion from the new Charger's style.

Sounds like a great plan
