Got home and it was 90 degrees and supposed to be hotter tomorrow and the next, so I got the doors off the Jeep.

Then I found some nuts and got the spare tire re-mounted after driving around with a stub looking like I was too poor to afford 5 tires for a few months.

Then I decided to rip off the rear muffler to judge the noise level and it actually sounds half way decent. I might add a glass pack in line to deepen up the tone a bit, but it works for now.

You know, I've been thinking that when I sell my Miata, I think I wouldn't mind having a Jeep for a short while. I think it would be fun to go on adventures. I kinda get envious seeing the Jeeps with out doors cruising with the Bimini/bikini tops on, Then I just floor it around a tight corner and the jealousy disappears. Enjoy your open cab motoring.

Jeep is the Miata of the SUV / Truck world. Totally worth it. Its not fast but its totally fun and you get all sorts of looks and thumbs up.

I know they aren't fast, but I do believe I would enjoy going out and doing some good wheeling and camping out in the middle of nowhere. I think I'm pretty set on a Jeep for my next vehicle, I just need to decide how long I'll be keeping my lil' Miata around. I don't have the money to go and get another car right now nor do I feel like trying to sell my Miata right now, I still need to take it an explore the coastal redwoods and all the fantastic coastal mountain roads Northern California has to offer. I think once I get sick of folding myself into the little car and not being able to carry anything with me gets old I'll find a decent Wrangler to get into. I've always liked them but I'd rather be able to take corners fast since there wasn't too much wheeling to do where I used to live.

Do the no doors and roof encourage strangers to talk to you at stoplights like having the top down in a Miata does? I always find it weird when people feel compelled to talk to me when I have the top down.

Occasionally. Most of the time I have the radio way up so they just roll their window back up. A lot of people out here tend to drive with the windows up and either AC or heat on all year round so theres that too.
