how some cars have painted front calipers but not rear?

Kia was guilty of it for a while on the Optima:

Scions with the TRD brakes have it:

Frankly, it looks cheap and trashy. How much does it honestly cost to paint the rear caliper? If you're only going to paint the front, I'd rather you just not paint any of them.

Are you sure its not disc front brakes and drum rears? If not, that's just lazy. Or the calipers are so small they're probably not worth painting.

I know the Optima is 4 corner discs and I'm pretty sure the tC is too. The Kia's are damn near the same size front and rear. The Scion's are ridiculously different sizes. Still, paint all of them or just don't at all, because it's just looks half-assed.

Ya I know some cars have front disc and rear drum that's why I was wondering. Not too familiar with either one of those cars, though. It is lazy to not paint them haha

my TL is like that. The fronts are gloss black with the Acura logo and the backs are just bare metal

That's just so stupid, especially on a car luxury car. That just makes it look cheap.

Yeah I noticed that on my truck too...of course my rear brakes are drums.
