Yes, all the time I spent in drivers ed with unbearable instructors has been put to worth. I finally got my license.
I'm extremely happy to say the least, even though as of now all that means is I'm going to be the one sent to get groceries. However now that I have a proper licensee (thank you Maryland for having the age be 16 and 6 months without adding any real training), I can sign up for an SCCA license, which means I can do AutoX! I'm also thinking trying to find some local amateur drift events and eventually joining the Clubloose drift league that runs throughout the Northeast (have to be 17). However as of now I need to raise a little more money in search of a car to call my own, but none the less I'm super hyped!
Have a video of Robbie Nishida and Daigo Saito going at it with missiles as a reward for reading this.

oh I feel ya I just got my license on the 28th of February and I still haven't gotten over it everytime I get behind the wheel I've got a shit eating grin on my face, as to autocross however, I'm going to have to replace some things on Clarisse before I do that. Luckily I have a while til I'm 17 and officially allowed to autocross.

Is that under SCCA (the autocross?). Also what car do you drive?

congrats it's such an amazing feeling. I just got my license on the 28th of February and I still haven't gotten over it. Everytime I get behind the wheel I've got a shiteating grin on my face. As to autocross however i need to replace something's on Clarisse before I get to that. Luckily I've still got some time before my 17th birthday when I'm officially allowed to do that to put the work in.

it's under PCA regulations which is who I'd use, and Clarisse is my 944 who I bought way back in November of 2012

Damn a 944? That different then the usual 240sx 0r NA, but 3 times cooler. Just wondering thought, aren't 944s hellishly hard to work on? The stuff I've read on C&D about the LeMons teams trying to run 944s has pretty much scared me off from ever considering one.

You don't need an SCCA license to autocross.....

You do if you want to go to SCCA sanctioned events.

I've done a couple and have not needed an SCCA license for Solo, do you have a link stating that a license is needed? I know for fact you need a license for track racing, haven't heard of one for Solo.

Hellishly hard no they can be a bit more difficult than you expect but since I do all the work myself I don't mind the extra hours since I'm learning anyways. Also fun fact a 944 just won a lemns race like 2 races ago becoming the first luxury car to get a win on laps.
