As far as knives go, I alternate between this early Spyderco Delica and this cheap-o Winchester. What do you use?

One of these on my keychain. I used to carry a bigger swiss army knife & a boot knife but switched to this when I was working a job where I needed something that was less visible. It does 90% of what the bigger stuff did and is small enough it doesn't weigh down my pocket.

Leatherman Wave
Prior to this I carried an OG Leatherman from when they only had one model. They have fixed both of them for free.

My pocketknife is 76 years old. Made in 1938 to commemorate the launch of the Norwegian flagship Oslofjord . These were carried by the ship's officers until Oslofjord hit a mine and sank just 2 years into her brief career. Naturally, there aren't many of these today.

I always used to carry Kershaw, had a Vapor, Blackout, Leek, Brawler, and an RJ1. All of them were wonderful knives, and they came out of the box sharp and stayed that way until people walked off with them.

I've got a nice Gerber and my favorite, though a little bulky, Smith & Wesson HomeLand Security edition, which i don't think they make anymore, but it's the "trusty" go-to one:

I've got a CRKT 9200. The spring opening mechanism on the flathead is a bit sticky and the saw is a bitch to open, but otherwise it's a great knife. Those holes in the black part are a wire stripper, and the cutouts are various-sized wrenches (metric and standard) with an integrated bottle opener (one left handed and one right).

Today... Spyderco Native.
Alternates with a CRKT M21 with Veff serrations.
and occasionally a Kershaw Whirlwind assisted-open with combo-edge.
If ever needed in a dress-up occasion, I might wear my most recent christmas gift... A Boker Anti-Grav ceramic blade with titanium liners, and carbon fiber scales.
I have a few others, including a CRKT Zillatool Jr. multi-tool, but those are my main knives.

Today is one of those days where I woke up exactly when my first meeting was due to start and I bolted out the door forgetting to put a knife in my pocket... Not carrying a knife makes me feel naked. Relying so far on the SOG powerlock multitool in my desk for all my knife-related needs today.
I have a Delica somewhat similar to yours - plain blade with the Emerson wave on top - I like it a lot! I usually just grab whatever's sharpest (because I'm lazy and wait until they're all dull to sharpen en masse), but my favs are a SOG Spec Elite II, Benchmade Griptillian, and Kershaw RAM

Interesting post...
I don't carry a knife very often, but when I do, I go old school. My dad used to work in a tannery, and he gave me a leather cutting knife. I looks like this one, but the end of the blade is more curved - it has sort of a claw-like tip.

Carbon Fiber Spyderco. Neat story behind it...
http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/detail…
Spyderco Shabaria Carbon Fiber
Knives and history are reflections of each other. Paleolithic flint tools to modern folding knives; they exist to perform the simple purpose of cutting. Jordan River Valley nomads centuries ago made and carried a curved fixed-blade called a Shabaria for agriculture and protection.
Israeli knife designer, Eduard Bradichansky, co-mingled the Shabaria's traditional utilitarian profile into a modern folding knife. Mr. Bradichansky was a gunsmith and gifted jeweler by trade, new to the knifemaking community, but already attracting collectors and enthusiasts to his fresh design work and crafting skills. His career cut short, he fell victim to a terrorist attack on the West Bank.
Spyderco is re-releasing a Sprint Run of his Shabaria folder with VG-10 stainless PlainEdge blade and carbon fiber handle. At first grasp, the handle's hourglass/coffin-shape feels slim and odd in the hand but the conveyance of balance and comfort immediately follows. The light carbon fiber handle has a black steel clip embellished with a gold Spyderco bug and positions the folder for right-hand, tip-down pocket carry. A straightforward easy to access and open Michael Walker LinerLock graces the handle's underside

Thumbs up for the OG Leatherman. I used mine to cut steel banding for a couple of years and now it opens like a bali-song butterfly. Still keeps an edge and I only had to put the end back on the smallest slot screwdriver once. I bought it in 1990.

That means they'll only fix it for another year! As much as I loved that thing I could never go back from the Wave. Being able to open the blade without flipping open the pliers is nice and the screw drivers are far superior.
