I have friend that did understand the fact that some have a performance standpoint, but thinks they are super ugly. I guess maybe it's just taste right? I can understand that. But what are some other reasons they are rad?

Haul stuff better than any crossover I've seen, and in my opinion look better than any crossover.

They're like the sedan models in that they get the same amount of performance, except they're better looking and more practical, as well as not that much more money.

Super ugly compared to what? An SUV?

I think in most cases, the Wagon version of luxury sedans look better than the sedan. But I'm a major wagon fan. There are a few wagon bashers on Oppo.

So you can say my wagon is faster than (insert sports car name here).
I personally only see them as donor cars to give up their drivetrains for other cars. I can't stand wagons never have liked them.

Performance, greater utility than sedans, and the sleeper factor. What more could you ask for?! Although I'm thinking my next car is going to be a hatchback (Focus ST), not quite as much storage as a wagon, but I will be able to get my fishing rods inside easily, haul my fishing kayak on top, and then go run auto-x after fishing. lol #MakeWagonsNotWar

I used to think they were ugly too until I came to this place. I still resisted for a couple of years, but I think the 159 SW and 300C wagon converted me. Not sure what changed, but I was jsut struck by how good those two cars looked.

Practical people that think practically, know they're very practical too. They're a practical buying decision to practically everyone that owns one, including me. Wagons are practically a lifestyle because practical people that make this practical decision usually practice practicality in other life decisions.

Because Wagons are the best cars for Bootlegging. They can be fast hold a lot of stuff and handle well.

But I don't even like sedans. And there are Jeeps and trucks for when I need practical, and for me, practical = offroad capable + motorcycle trailer hauling capable.
(I get the wagon love, just don't think I'd ever own one.)

Aesthetics are not worth arguing. And most people just will not buy or even show the slightest interest in a car they feel is ugly, regardless of features and benefits.
That said, there are people who don't see a new car for what it is so much as what old stereotype it evokes, and sometimes these people can be coached toward open-mindedness.
Wagons often have lower insurance rates, precisely because they are not considered cool. I don't think that applies to the above pictured wagon, whose owners as a group seem even nuttier than their sedan and coupe cousins...

So a wagon is practically perfect for any practical people right?

My cousin hauls his dirt bike on the back of his TDI Jetta. It's not a wagon, but it's capable of pulling around a motorcycle no problem. So get a wagon, awd diesel if possible, lift it, and bam! Perfect ride. lol jk... sort of.
I'm currently in the debate between a hatchback/wagon or a pickup/suv for my next vehicle. It's a tough debate for me. Hatchback or wagon means I can haul fishing/camping stuff and still do racing (auto-x), but a truck means I could haul gear easier and also throw a bike in the back. Since I'm in an apartment and don't really have anywhere to store a dirt bike for now, I think the hatchback is gonna win this one though. Each option definitely has its appeal and drawbacks though. I just need more money, then I can have a place with a garage and multiple vehicles. lol

Lol, nice! Unfortunately I don't think I should sling a 600cc sportbike on the back of a Jetta... though my XJ is essentially a lifted wagon right now anyway :P
I'm in a similar spot with the apartment too... I have a Jeep, motorcycle, and trailer taking up way more room than my 1BR apartment was allotted, and I'm planning on buying a Mustang or Challenger next year as well. Probably time to get a house.

Yeah, I don't think the Jetta would handle that too well. lol
Apartment life is a rough life for us petrolheads. I've got a few guys at my work who've suggested I buy a small plot of land further north around the Wisconsin border, and just put up a shed to store a bike and/or project car in. We will see though... I think I'm gonna need a raise before I can afford all that. haha

I'm just here to say good luck.. 6/10 cars in my top 10 are wagons... yet my girlfriend won't get in one if I buy one (she hates them that much).

Yup.... and to make parking matters worse, my bf is staying at my place too, so add a Mustang to that driveway and now the 1BR apartment is taking up 3.5 spaces out of a 4 space driveway. Luckily my housemates are cool and we make it work, but it's not at all ideal.
