Best barbecue sauce ever.
Just made a batch of my own. Its pretty good so far, though I'm a bit more concerned about the pork it'll be going on. 6lb roast in a 4qt pressure cooker = breaking all the rules.
Note: the original is also quite good, and I haven't had a chance to try the chipotle.

Famous Dave's devil's spit is my top choice but I'm always open to new things especially if they require eating BBQ

While I understand you think this is an opinion question and want to voice your own, I'm just going to disregard that, as this is a proven fact.
But really, I'll have to try Famous Dave's sauces sometime. I'm not sure a sauce better than Salt Lick exists, but I'm all for it if it does.

I went down to the Salt Lick for my first time last year and loved every bite. Unfortunately I ran out of sauce shortly after I got home, but my sister-in-law lives around there, so she sent me a 6-pack when my wife told her my world came crashing down around me. It's amazing that it tastes like mustard, and even people who aren't mustard fans can't get enough of it

I'm from Virginia, and was staunchly a tomato sauce person until I tried it. I've found a recipe for it on the interwebz and make it every now and then.
I'm actually pretty sad about my visit there though. We went on a pretty quiet day after rafting and it was just too cold inside for most of the people in my group. Thus, we ate outside and missed out on unlimited meat. Their brisket and sausage is phenomenal.

I'm being completely serious here. This stuff is fantastic. I use it on everything. Stocked up for a long time.

They have unlimited meat?! We also ate outside since it was so nice (read: not like the 7th layer of hell). I'll be going down there again in November, so we'll have to make an afternoon to check out the Lick again

One of the meal options I think. They'll bring it to your table if you're eating inside, but they won't if you're eating outside. We were there in mid-May and the weather was just fantastic.

Try Salt Lick if you haven't. It's worth it, I promise.

Sweet Baby Ray's is a good conservative BBQ sauce made by a guy in Illinois... If you want a little taste of heaven, get yourself a bottle of this stuff

You're speaking a different language. Brown sugar/molasses based sauces might cut it on a piece of chicken or something, but it's worlds away from a tangy, spicy, vinegar/mustard based barbecue sauce. Haven't had this stuff, but based on the ingredients in his link (mustard, Worcestershire, spices), I'm sure it's pretty decent:

My own preference involves Woody's Cook-in sauce as a base, with mustard, a little ketchup and mayo, spices, and Worcestershire sauce.

being a northeasterner I'm pretty agnostic about BBQ sauce, since we don't have a real regional sauce style of our own (to my knowledge). I like Salt Lick's sauce a lot, but it's slightly too corn syrup-y for me to say it's the best ever. I also remember it tasting better at the restaurant than from the bottle. With that being said it's the only BBQ sauce in my cupboard. I have yet to make a recipe of my own that makes me want to stop buying Salt Lick's.

I'll try it out. Can you only get it online, or is it in stores?I honestly haven't looked and it could be right in front of me.

The only places I've seen the Salt Lick's sauce for sale is in Texas, or on their website

I live 10 minutes away from the Salt Lick. When the wind is right, I can smell the smoke from the pits.
I prefer Stubbs sauce. For a meal, I prefer to go to Lockhart and eat Kreuz Market brisket. No sauce, no forks.

I'm actually not a big fan of Stubbs sauce. I'm also not a huge fan of their food. I thought the Salt Lick was much better when I visited.

I like the sauce. I've been to Stubb's downtown once and it was ok, but not a place that I'd insist on taking someone if they were visiting from out of town.
