Push-botton starts aren't the end of the world, you scared ass busters. It's not even a thing.

" But I'll miss that connection to the vehicle that turning a key gives me! "

Anyone who complains about push button start has never owned a car with it.

It's not even the button that I care about. Keyless entry (as in press a button on the handle and get in) is the greatest thing ever. I had it in my previous car, my current car did not include it.

Is it something I need ? Absolutely not, but boy do I miss it.

My rat rod has a push button start. It is much more low tech than the key solution.

Wow, you're really worked up because some people prefer something different than you.

Push buttons are fun. Its like waking up a beast with the click of a button. I used to hate them for no reason, but now I think they're awesome!

Car enthusiasts are drama queens who need someone to pull them back down to reality. By the hair.

When a key fob for a keyless entry (push button start) car gets lost, they cost around $500 to replace. When my metal key gets lost, it costs $7 to replace. THAT's why people freak out.

Another example: HID headlight bulbs. Standard bulb is around $25. HID is $150.

Another example: you get in a fender bender and your airbag deploys. Your car is totaled simply because the cost of replacing airbags is astronomical.

Another example: Upcoming federal mandates say all cars MUST have a rear view camera, which means in many states that have annual inspections, if it breaks your car will probably fail. How much will that system cost from a dealership do you think? The answer is likely into four-digit territory.

Are these good optional features to have? Absolutely. Should cars be mandated to have them? Absolutely not. That's the issue in my book.

It's ridiculous to assume that these technologies are going to remain expensive. Fact is, like most things, they'll get cheaper. Especially if they're included in every vehicle.

If that's your argument then cars shouldn't change ever.

And really? You're arguing against air bags? The last thing that needs to be an optional extra for wealthier individuals is a key safety feature. Everything right down to a bare bones Mitsubishi Mirage that a single mother could barely afford to buy should include it.
