Whelp, this time it was a lady in an xB who was trying to hand a towel back to her kid who spilled juice and didn't realize the light had gone red. Note, apparently more juice was spilled after she hit me...I asked. She's lucky I was up there as a blocker because the cross traffic was really heavy and it would have been a pretty spectacular T-bone if she had just blown into the intersection.

So, two rear hits in about 6 months of DDing this car...my last DD went 9 years without a single moving accident. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Here's her little screw hole she punched in the bumper. The bumper bar is toast, some clips were ripped out, and the exhaust pipe is all bent up and rattling on the undercarriage, but other than that not too bad.

Kinja'd!!!

Better than last time.

Kinja'd!!!

Le sigh.

Must be a lunar cycle.

I hit a deer with my DD last october. Car is a 2013 with 8000 miles on it. $7600 in damage. February? Lady comes flying out of her driveway without using her mirrors and caves my rear passenger door in.

If you figure out how to exorcise the demon from your car please let me know.

Its the curse of the white car!

It is this issue we have where white cars are cursed.

All of them have had weird issues. My dads white Camry wagon was driven off a cliff in St. Thomas. My moms white Escort GT Turbo was a total lemon new from dealership. Her white Tercel got rear ended on the highway. My grandmas white Hyundai Genesis was backed into in a parking lot.

No more white cars for us

I've got a white Audi. I've been rear ended three times in a year. Dammit.

Sure. He lived in St. Thomas, part of the US Virgin Islands. All the roads are very hilly and have lots of blind curves (like shown below). Also, they drive on reversed sides.

Kinja'd!!!

St. Thomas is a big tourist area, many of them rent cars to drive around.

He was driving home from work one day on a road in the mountains. As he goes around the blind bend, a tourist is driving on the wrong side. Since there was no where to go on the right, he had to go left. This meant going through a guardrail. He hit it and the car stopped. He was able to get out. The front of the car was teetering over the cliff edge. A few moments later, the guard rail gave way and the car plummeted over 100 feet down into some trees. So to put simply, it scared the shit out of him. If he didn't get out quickly enough, he'd most likely be gone.

I now know for fact that replacing the rear bumper is not effective at removing the curse.

Maybe I'm alone in this situation, but if it's a semi-legit accident like this (not texting, Facebook, road head, etc) I'm not as mad. Me being pissed helps the situation exactly 0%. But I haven't had an accident with my 10 week old yet, that might be different

I wasn't majorly pissed or anything. She was in the car with three kids and obviously mortified by the whole thing. I actually had to convince her to pull into a lot to exchange info so she wouldn't get a ticket. She's in her upper 30s-low 40s and had never been in a wreck before so that, along with her kids in the car, along with the fact that if I hadn't been in front of her she would have driven right into 50 mph cross traffic left her more shaken up than I was.

It's still annoying to have to be in a loaner and miss a couple hours of work, but it's not a super big deal or anything.

First week of owning my car I got a bungee cord end stuck in my tire, then next week I ran over a piece of wood that scratched my rear bumper pretty deeply, then I got caught in a hailstorm for $6k damage and lastly I had someone hit me just barely hard enough to scratch the rear bumper where it comes to a point for $400 in damage(just got the check!)
