Is the G37x the Rally Coupe We've Always Wanted?

330hp, good enough looks & AWD, sounds good to me.

Just give it some lights

& some flaps and she'll be good to go.

There aren't too many AWD coupes out there, and to be completely honest I forgot about the g37x coupe until I saw one this morning. From what I can tell they didn't offer a manual with awd, which would be a deal breaker for many here. But has anyone on Oppo driven/owned one? Is the 3.7 really as rough as some journalists make it out to be?

And just out of curiosity I went and checked ….. not bad prices. This one only had 7k miles on it too.

They didn't make it in AWD/manual. However, I hear the 7-speed is pretty good. I've definitely looked at them a time or 2.

But FWD biased because not real Quattro, IMO a A5 or S5 would be a better Audi to compare.

They're pretty nice cars. The Z and G have kind of numb clutches/sticks. So if auto is what you want, it seems like a good car for that. Bear in mind, this isn't a true mechanical AWD, like a Subie. But it can send some power to the front. Kind of like a Haldex VW/Audi (only backwards), only not quite as intelligent. The Audi 5 is probably the closest thing to what it sounds like you want.

Just watched this video in response to your comment, and being mostly RWD biased sounds good to me.

But lol nope, I live in Michigan. I just searched with unlimited range and that car had the best combo of prettiest color with lowest miles.

I have no idea. The literature doesn't seem to specify beyond that it's an automatic. And there seem to be people on the forums that believe both sides to be true.

Gotcha. Cool man. The advice I usually give to buyers is: if you want it and can afford it, get it. We live in an age where we are spoiled for choice, and it's pretty hard to make a horrible choice.

Too heavy, too lux-oriented, and AWD means Automatic-only, for a rally car.

It is a competitor to A5... and A5 isn't quite as visceral what UrQuattro used to be, although it is a very fine Grand Touring coupe, just as G37X is.

But G37/Skyline 370GT is not quite what Skyline GT-R used to be, either.

I know its not going to be a real rally car, but as someone from a northern state thats a RWD coupe fanboy, I quite like the idea of it. In a few years down the road I think one of these would be a awesome winter beater.
