This post brought to you by Svedka, the Swedish vodka for discerning drinkers who don't have any PBR left in their refrigerators.

If you do go down the path of 124 Spider ownership, a few things will begin to happen. First of all, your budget for household goods will start becoming less and less, as the Spider, like any good Italian mistress, will demand a lot of you and your paycheck.

You will find yourself becoming less and less worried about the opposite sex, as your Spider will consume your waking thoughts; dreams of countrysides and empty roads being the only reason you continue to get up. Your daily will become less and less interesting, and you may even contemplate selling it and only driving the Spider.

Your morning ritual will alter, so it can handle the ritual coolant and oil check, complete with the prerequisite Italian curse words.

Even if you already have a significant other, the Spider will take a greater and greater role in your life; usurping even the greatest loves as you begin to obsess, as your every breath is focused on making it to the next weekend, so you can uncork that glorious Lampredi-designed twin-cam on the world and share her beautiful song with it.

Your friends will become less important, except for those who also have the bug. They will eventually be your only social support, as you spiral down the circle of Fiat obsession.

You will pace anxiously by the mailbox for the next issue of Ricambi, the Fiat Club America newsletter, when the issue is due.

Your convertible top leaks will become more important than your roof leaking, to the point where you may as well live in the Fiat.

Finally, you will compose a post like this, hoping that future Opponauts will heed the advice, and Opparents will also heed it, and get their car-addicted youth old Fiats to drive, and subsequently lower the teen pregnancy rate.
