I went looking for pictures of the San Jose/Malpitas plant. It's now a shopping mall - it closed in '82, after being open since '55. Mine was special order #720597 (597 at Malpitas). Here's a pic of a '61 Chero and a normal Falcon I found.

Very cool. This was before a run amok state government made it prohibitively expensive for anyone to manufacture anything in CA.

I should do this with the Spitfire, although there's not much mystery to it. It was pretty much Canley or Australia.
