One of my lasting memories of being in the Navy was being on Diego Garcia and seeing a C5 with it's nose and tail open and a HUGE Sea Dragon sitting inside. At the time the Sea Dragons were being used to drag sleds through the Gulf to clear mines.

The refitted, CF6 engined, C5-M Super Galaxy carries on... albeit with moar power and efficiency. However, it is quieter now, airliner quiet... as the original TF-39's engines were screamers. TF-39's below:
