Okay, so as I prepare for purchasing a car, I want to make sure I have everything right...
1) I get insurance for the vehicle.
2) I attain said vehicle title and vehicle. Preferrably with a bill of sale.
3) I go to the dmv, deal with sales tax (if applicable), registration to my name, and plates
4) I hoon the shit out of it as soon as the plates are on the car.
What am I overlooking/forgetting, or need to keep in mind? I want to make sure this is done right...its my first time, so go easy on me.
Have a 427 for your troubles...

I assume this is after you have agreed to buy it?

haha, yes, and after the seller hands me the title willingly in exchange for money.

Nope, you haven't overlooked anything, but you may want to check with your local state/provincial transpo website to make sure.
But unless you're buying a track rat and you know how to fix it - in fact, you want to see what breaks, so as to replace it before a race - then I'd say don't hoon it the second the plates are on it. I'd want to get any used car moderately sorted before hooning it. Tune up, belts, fluids, brakes, tires, and such.

yes, naturally. Im looking to change most fluids, do a complete one-over on the front end, suspension, and its going to be put up on a lift for a full once over by a friend who has a shop before it really gets the beams.
tomorrow i will hopefully be able to call the insurance company and discuss life with them with minimal distractions at work.

I really hope the owner is seeing a therapist. Clearly they're suicidal.

That cobra is a 1966 original, and belonged to Shelby himself. Set 3 Guiness World Records, and is owned by a really chill guy who not only drives it on the street, but is a race instructor, certified to the moon and back for nearly anything you can think of (he also drove it for the records).
I propose it for one more record: Fastest miles accumulated on Odometer
Valued at 6.6 million big ones.

Aaaaactually, this is the Carroll Shelby owned Super Snake. This is what's in the engine bay.
The two Super Snakes are also the only Cobras to ever be fitted with automatics. It's a shame the other one was wrecked and although it was rebuilt, hardly any of it is original.

not so sure, there were 7 original Super Snakes, there are 3 confirmed remaining, and a fourth possibly somewhere. Thats the dual supercharged one, this is a single supercharger. Im inclined to believe what the owner told me because the owner worked for Shelby, and also works closely with the shelby registry. He bought the car from Shelby about 16 years ago. It has 1220+hp and 1100+ft/lbs of torque.

WAT. I honestly have no idea where you're getting this info.
And that Vortech supercharger isn't even remotely close to being 50 years old.

Good observation! The original top plate used to say Paxton on it.
When the car set the Guiness world records, Shelby got a phone call from Vortech about the fact that they had bought out Paxton, and didnt want the Paxton name on the car. After some lawyers got involved, Shelby and Vortech made a final agreement. Vortech would re-cast the original part with the Vortech name on it, and Shelby would swap the part themselves, keeping the original Paxton labelled part. Vortech nearly had a kitten over that, because they wanted to destroy the Paxton part, but in the end, there was no other way to get the Vortech name under the hood.

The CSX4000 and 6000 cars are Superformance replicas. The CSX2000 cars are small block, leaf spring cars, and the CSX3000 cars are big block, coil spring cars. If it isn't a CSX2000 or 3000 car it isn't a real Cobra.

The hand hammered body is most certainly not a replica.
cant tell spit from these pics, there was no good angle to get a pic from.
Ive talked to many Superformance owners, this is no Superformance replica.

Welp, I'm done. It's hopeless.
I guess ignorance really is bliss.
