over here, especially with the TDI V6 and manual transmission. This would offer a lower base price and better CAFE and mpg figures too. Shit, they have a FWD Phaeton and Bentley, so why not the A8?
They used to sell us the FWD A8, and of course the XTS FWD is out now too.
Ford also has the Taurus and MKS for big FWD luxury shit
Yeah, the MKS, A8, and XTS for FWD large luxury car competition
It would also be nice if they made card in Japan again. Audi did make some first-gen A8's and older V8 Quattros in Japan in the 90s. They are probably higher in quality. Well, either that, or they're the worst Japanese cars of all time.

Because people don't buy big FWD luxury cars
They only sold 34 of those last year I think

No.
1) It's gone because no one pays German import luxury prices for a FWD car. It will stay gone for that reason.
2) Bentley does not and has never produced a FWD vehicle, for obvious reasons.
3) There are FWD Phaetons, but this is because the RWD parts of the Chassis have been removed. It is an AWD, longitundinal platform which significantly differs from all the other cars you have listed there. The US never received the FWD variant of the Phaeton for obvious reasons.
4) 'Ford' is not a luxury nameplate (though the Taurus is very nice, it's not nice enough inside or out to be considered even as near luxury)
5) The XTS is only a placeholder. Once Caddy's S class competitor arrives, it's history.
6) Lincoln is in a desperate situation; they need billions of dollars worth of R&D for new products they don't have. It's either sell FWD rebadged fords, or retire the nameplate. At least with first option Ford can keep the name on the market while it gets some margin on stuff it already makes while the R&D cash piles up.

No. The Taurus, MKS, and XTS are not competition for an A8.
