Nothing else can ever compare in my mind, at least from the 90's. Welcome to the Alfa Romeo 164. Provided Facebook's public sharing feature works as advertised, this should lead to the album with pics of the one I owned: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Fun fact, on mine, which was a '91, about half those buttons didn't work, and none of the lights did. :)

I was 9 years old when my uncle owned one, I spent a lot of time with him in it in the summer and the same issues occurred. The speedometer, fuel, and most other electronics didn't work. But the engine was amazing, I think he had the V6, not sure if they sold another engine. Maybe a diesel.

As far as I know, here in the states it only had the 3.0 V6, 195hp in the regular versions and 200 in the S. Sounded amazing.

According to wiki:
The base 164 engine was the 2.0 L Twin Spark
I4
engine with two
spark plugs
per cylinder. Apart from that, this engine was also notable for having a two-stage valve timing system (before
Honda
's famous
VTEC
), and an induction valve blade-type system, aimed at improving low-end torque.
I think they just made one base model, most likely for Europe.

There is one on Ebay that literarily had every part replaced in true Alfa fashion.
