1998 cadillac Seville STS. All hail the northstar!

Pfft.
OK, ready to be attacked from all sides:
I nominate this the king of the Sports Sedan:
Sure it didn't have the RWD of the Caddi, nor the Northstar:
But this thing could handle better than it should have been able to, looked good, and came with a high revving fun to thrash manual!
Also, it was more "sports" sedan than "land yacht"

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the only RWD Cadillacs of the 90s were the Fleetwood and the Opel Omega Catera. The rest was FWD. None of them were sporty.

I know that's right... I won't miss the 4 door coupe styling trend when it dies

Yep, you are right!
My natural inclination is to see a Cadi as RWD and I forget that so many of them were not for so long!
So really, all that Seville had was the Northstar and leather.

Just in time for the inevitable 4 door sports crossover fad!

thats not american though. As far as american offerings go the sts was a beast. Have you ever actually drove one??

No it isn't. Do you know many cars he has driven and echoed my exact sentiments for the LHD of the same car? Anything Ford for example. His reviews are dead on, combined with Mays technical view, such as on the AMG "What good is all that power if you can't put it down"

~300hp good.
Cadillac handling and steering at the time, not so much. I have driven a few era Seville's maybe the STS, maybe not. Power, great. Handling, it's a couch on ice. I don't enjoy that nor the body roll I remember. Better than the 2013 Camry V6 body roll... But that was like driving a gerbil wheel.
For what it was, it was good. But calling it a "Best sports" anything is laughable as it only had the power.

a couch on ice, hige body roll... I do not belive you drove a STS or a SLS for that matter at all.. maybe a deville or at very least a beat to shit base SLS may 3rd gen at that.. the 4th/5th seville do jot meet your discription at all. Having owned 4 of them, 2 4th gens and 2 5th gen I can say the way you talk it sounds like you have never drivwn any of them.

IDK, Edmund's synopsis sort of agrees:
"Though enjoyable to drive long distances and packed with features, the Seville had a front-drive layout that did it no favors when it came time for handling potential and sporting image. It also suffered from subpar build quality and reliability. At the time, we wrote that traditional Cadillac buyers will find the Seville comfortable and modern, but traditional European car buyers would deem it too soft and unrefined."
Too "Soft" as in suspension soft means body float and roll.
