I drive a FWD Mazda Protege5 which just so happened to blow a seal or something in the transmission. This resulted in what I can only assume as all of the transmission fluid leaking out. I haven't really had time to tackle the problem, but I will need to move the car for street sweeping.
Is it a horrible idea to run the car for about a minute with no fluid in order to put it in my driveway? I can't really push it into the driveway because it is on a steep incline.
EDIT, totally forgot to mention it is a manual. My bad!

if you can get it in neutral, get a chain or rope and tow it in, or get 10 friends to help you push.

Chances are with no fluid it wouldn't go into gear anyways. Gotta push pull or drag it.

Best bet is to put it in neutral and have someone push it, bumper to bumper, with another car. Do it slow and put cardboard and old blankets between the bumpers.

I'd assume it's an automatic, it won't move without fluid in it and you'll ruin the transmission if you try and rev it up enough to move.

Possible to add fluid to get you to a shop?

Yeah, that would definitely be possible. I am trying my best to learn everything I can on this car, so my first plan of action is to try and work on it myself.

Not really any room to tow. However, extra man power might just be the key. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best.

have a couple people walking alongside with chocks so they can be put under the wheels in case yall start losing it.

That's actually not too bad of an idea if everything went according to plan.

You must always assume a car is manual on Oppo! I'm just kidding, my bad for not specifying!

Also a good idea! It seems you have experience with this sort of thing.

i've pushed the gas needle too far a few times. To get up a steep hill, you need someone in the car for steering and e-brake, a couple people with chocks, three people pushing from the back, and a person at each door. Never push on an open door. Put the windows down and have people pushing on the pillars. You will ruin your hinges and therefore your sheetmetal if you push on the doors.

I assumed automatic because I've never had a manual trans leak on me but plenty of auto leaks. Just go easy and it will be fine to put it in the driveway.

I've had to do it a few times. Put plenty of cushion inbetween them and you won't have any damage.
