I'm stuck. It's either a new bike, or a new car. All within the next couple years.
Any Oppoinions on these? Any owners around here?
These seem nice. Somebody enlighten me on the difference between the 2.5I and the Gt with the hood scoop Por-Favor.

The GT was a flat 6.

I've barely seen any of those. I keep my eyes out for them though. I'm trying to explore all of my options in advance.

The GT is turbo'ed. Its very quick and basically (in theory) a more mature WRX. 2.5i is NA.

That's because it's a unicorn. There's an 05 Outback XT for sale here with a 5 speed though!

Nope. Boosted EJ25. 3.6R had the flat 6. (In the US at least)

There are a few weak spots with this car at this age (I have one). Axle boots crack, wheel bearings, throw out bearing, and yes, the head gaskets are still an issue. They don't leak coolant, but they seep oil externally. Not a catastrophic issue anymore but still an expensive fix. The GT's didn't have that issue as much since they use a lower compression ratio. As for the difference, the GT is in another league. Almost 50% more hp than the 2.5i. Still a really fun car to drive even without the turbo on the GT.

Thanks! I appreciate it.
Have you modified it at all?

I have not. It's my DD for a 65 mile commute, so I have to keep it practical. ;-)

Oh yeah, I understand fully! That's a long commute though! Mine isn't that long. But if I speed it gets even shorter :)

The BL Legacy (4th gen, pictured above) was the 3.0R trim level, and had the EZ30D flat 6. The 3.6R trim level was the EZ36D flat 6, and is on the BM (5th gen) 3.6R and the new BN (6th gen) Legacy 3.6R.
The BL Legacy GT had the EJ255, specifically.

The spec.B didn't come in a wagon.

May I suggest a Mazdaspeed 6. Though I'm biased. And damn they're expensive over yonder.

Damn, not even a spec.B? The wagon love is strong.

I've started to dislike sedans and coupes these days. Now that I own a wagon it makes a sedan seem so impractical. Plus nothin looks better than a wagon with a roof rack or cargo carrier.
