If you're an F1 racing fan, then you must be disappointed like me. Not only are the cars much quieter, they're not quite as fast and they don't look as good.
So this morning I pulled out some video clips of the 2013 race I went to last year - the sound of the cars was so amazing. It's unfortunate that we won't experience this again.
BUT, the racing thus far has been pretty exciting to watch.

Not disappointed at all, but I would like to see someone challenge Mercedes.

What do you mean "experience again"? There is always vintage racing! I heard some sexy V10s last year at Road America
Video doesn't quite pick up on the epic sounds.

Yeah no kidding - Red Bull's dominance last year is now replaced by Mercedes.

I mean hear the sounds of the V8 of the F1 cars. But like you said, in person, the V6s might sound a lot better than I think they do on TV.

You can still experience the sights and sounds of the V8 F1 cars. Just have to wait a few years until someone buys a old chassis and brings it to an event. I heard some 70s DFV V8s and it sounded just as good as it did 40 years ago!
As for the V6s, they probably won't sound great. Usually, if it doesn't sound good in a video it won't sound good in real life.

They are getting faster, Shanghai was quicker. They are still working out the cars, you have obviously never tried to develop a new car. Sounds change, when I was young they didn't sound anything like last years cars, they didn't have seat belts then. F1 has to reflect the time it is operating in, you can't freeze F1 cars or they become a historic racing series. Do you think its ok to have new super cars for the road more advance than an F1 car? Thats the argument and they decided that it can't be that way and it has to develop. RBR will catch up, maybe not fast enough to win, but by next season everyone will work out the gremlins.

Good points. It's good to see different teams excel in different years. Keeps it exciting!
