It's very unfortunate that she died but it only highlights that fiddling with your phone can wait, even when it's really tempting. Maybe if there was some sort of lockout when the phone is in the car (but that has its own set of problems).

I'm just glad her inattention didn't cause her to hit an innocent family or something like that. Cool name by the way, love district 9.

Across the median into a recycling truck?

Seems a bit excessive for not paying attention while posting. You usually hear of people running stop signs, running into the back of other cars, or sideswiping someone.

I'm wondering if it was intentional.

^^ Just a hunch, still sad either way.

Provided that it was indeed her using her phone in an unsafe manner while driving (No one really knows, do they?) that resulted in this, and as much information and publicity as there is regarding the possible deadly consequences of screwing around with your phone while driving, I can only chalk this up to evolution in action.

Yeah I know what you mean it does sound a little strange. Also I know texting while driving is worryingly common, selfies and fb status posts? Seems a little unusual to me.

Yup, if it was indeed completely her fault it's probably a good thing she wrecked into a truck before she hit anything weaker, like a small car with children riding in the back.

Yeah. Most texting while driving mistakes I read about are an "oops oops, holy shit that was close" kind of error. The ones that last a few seconds that result in accidents like I mentioned above. In order to run across the median, I would imagine she would have to not look up and just kept typing all the way to the scene of the accident. No corrections, no brakes, no fucks given.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems unusual.

That's my armchair accident scene analysis for the day.

I'd just assume she lost control completely - possibly trying to overcorrect - and did something like spin helplessly across the median into the path of oncoming traffic.

Yeah, that's definitely possible, too.

Not sure which theory I like least. :(
