The Prius is a poser. People only buy it for HOV lane access. Why wouldn't they just get a normal Prius?

I thought they changed the rules so regular Priuses (Prii?) were no longer allowed HOV access. Maybe a couple of years ago.

From what I've read LA traffic is literally the worst, I would totally get a volt for the commute/HOV lane.
But I live in Detroit …. and have no money.

The CEO of the smallish tech company I work for (which is in California) has been driving EVs for quite some time, including one of the electric Mini prototypes and a BMW 1-series electric prototype. Recently he bought a Tesla Model S. It's because he's a nerd at heart and loves the tech and loves being on the "bleeding edge."

Cool. The Tesla Model S really is the best EV on the market right now.

Is there anything more fun and interesting than a nice infographic about electric car owner demographics?

This says all you need to know about EV's in CA and the rest of the nation. Toys for the rich who have another car to drive when they aren't commuting.

Agreed. I keep looking at other EVs and PEVs, but nothing comes even close to it. But that price...

Yep, regular Priuses don't get an HOV sticker anymore.
