Balls to watermarking these things. I'm a bit lazy to do that and upload these to flickr. Alas! Here is the photodump of the massive car meet in Orange County NY last Sunday. Was a great day! Even got some sunburn! Enjoy.
It is tough to chose a lead photo. But I feel this one works well. Because its like a pun on my title. heh.
Also it was the first time i really got to test out my new nikon 50mm 1.8 prime lense. With crop i was working on a 75mm focal length. Great bokeh later on though.

This had a rsx front lip and fog lights. Look at those skirts, and rear lip! Not your average kiddybus!
.
These wheels were on a 350 or 370z, i cant remember.
.
Hmm, this guy was getting a bit friendly with that subaru...
.
A jaaaaaaaaaaaagggg on baaaaaaaaaaaaaagggs. Thats was the first time I had seen such a humorously gentleman car.

Hey! hey you! Your fuel filler door is open!

This GTR had twins...
Speaking of GTR's. There were 13, or 14 GTR's at this meet. There were more GTR's than preludes. At this rate im worried it could become the next civic! i kid....

Fear not, i know not everyone likes the low life. So these guys helped with the antidote:

It was pretty much a mini city of awesome cars. Awesome people. And those who thought it was in everyone's best interest to ride around with all their audio setups on the roof of their cars blasting music such as TWRK-BaDINGA! and many other 'pleasant' tunes of our generation....
I am curious about that purple bar protecting the intercooler. Thats something I'd never seen.
Isnt this the new 2015?
And lets have a moment of silence for the evo. You will not be forgotten!

Very cool. Not as cool as the OPPO meet you organized obviously, but cool.
Those Supra's are beautiful. It's been so long since I've seen a Supra, especially one that hasn't been horrendously modified.

That white one was immaculate. But someone got in my shot.
Every meet is cool in their own way. Oppo meet was like hanging out with good buddies. This was just a frezny of insane machines. Which isnt exactly bad... But i love all the meets regardless.

Goddamn - where was this??!?!
Why did I not hear about this and how should I be hearing about this? I live in Orange County and I know nothing about nothing. There might be a Cars & Coffee sometimes in Middletown (or was it Goshen) I think? But I have no idea when it happens.
All I know is about 40s in a Bag that's happening the first weekend of May but I'm pretty sure it's in Ulster County anyway. I only know because my friend is an Audi freak and he went last year.
And what/where was this Oppo meet you organized?

The SVX in the second picture looks very very good. Makes me want to get one even more! That and the engine!

Oh yeah, plus that Jaaaaaaaag is incredible.
So sad they were never made in manuals. I'm thinking perhaps when I'm a bit older and have time and space for a big project, an 80s/early 90s XJ6 swap is in store. Maybe an engine swap if needed to get that manual transmission - I'd hafta look up again to see what swaps are most common.

Harriman state park/bear mountain state park. Theyre like next to each other.
And dude, i made a post to oppo about it! haha.
http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/hm-i-might-swi…
And On facebook i keep tabs on events happening. Usually most big meets are posted to this page or others like it.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/4490108…
They also have lots of mega meets up in middletown. They usually take over parkinglots around 10pm. Look up "Clean Culture" on facebook, and one of the guys who runs that page posts up the event pages for them on his FB.
Also, Eat sleep race ESR, holds a big meet in the summer in jersey. Keep an eye on their page. Clean culture will have another meet or two this summer. Also look for the Rockland County mega meet. That happens yearly too.
The oppo meet I setup was a cruise to Hawks Nest, then our attempt (haha) at a bbq at High Point state park. Im trying to figure out a good plan for the next (and last one i will try to set up) meet before i move to tennessee. I found out ill be moving sooner than i thought. Before the 4th of july, so i will miss out on all these awesome TriState meets. =(

SVX's are sweet. I was up at hawks nest along the delware river and a guy was doing runs in a blue one with a manual swap. He had a go pro so im sure he uploaded those videos on youtube...

Ha, I check Oppo fairly often - I must have just missed it (or maybe it was a busy day)!
Thanks for sharing this info - I'll definitely keep my eye out from now on. Good luck moving to Tennessee... Make sure you buy a car down there that wasn't plagued by years of salty roads ;)

Youre welcome. Meets will always pop up out of the blue too, so just keep your ears open as well.
My car came from virginia, so i did much better than a northeast salt infested vehicle. Luckily the car will move back down even more south now in hopes to prevent any further rust!
