Yuup... Now it's not about being better than your neighbor anymore, but about... Frankly, I have no idea. "Imagine you're the owner of a Lexus IS 350 F. Obsidian Black." K. Done. Can I go back to imagining I own a cruddy 70 Yenko Deuce now?

I like that this one is not condescending. It's about experiencing what a car can give you, as opposed to feeling inadequate because some other tosser has a brand new car that you probably don't particularly want.
I don't particularly want a Lexus, and no amount of advertising will persuade me that I do. I'm fairly entrenched in my ways of old crusty Brits and Italians, but there's probably a good number of people out there who are still forming their opinions about what they like best in cars*. If that advert persuades them to go and try a Lexus, and they end up falling for it, then who am I to complain? Especially as it feeds into what makes me passionate about cars, and doesn't focus on what I see as the slightly revolting underbelly of car ownership to try and make other people think you're minted.
*hell, I'm not finished now either

True, what worries me though is that it looks like they're forming some sort of "7 Deadly Sins" by Lexus, and I can't imagine how bad some of the next ones will be in case that turns out to be true. Lust, for example, is going to be terrible. Sloth, too, because they'll probably bash people who don't own Lexus, like they kinda did in the first one...

I think you're right. Lust will be fine. Lexus produced the LFA, and the new RC-F concept looks pretty hot.
Sloth will be difficult, as will vainglory.
Wroth might be fun though, especially if they preview some beastly new engine :)
