Apparently someone is selling an Alpine A108 a 1966 Willys Interlagos on my local ebay.
It's a Brazilian Willys-Overland Interlagos, manufactured under license from Alpine's A108, the predecessor of the world-famous A110.
At 3000 'Murican Dollars I think its price is fair, even more so considering it's in Uruguay, where NO car is cheap and that this is one of the last examples ever made.
The add doesn't specify which engine it has or what transmission (other than "manual") but still, looks like it's a pretty cool little car.
I wish I had a garage, I don't need a car right now but this would be a nice weekend car and wouldn't be hard to work on.

Would be nice to own one of those. Even I wouldn't mind it being the "Brazilian" version :p

The best thing about this is taking it to car shows, and when someone says "nice Alpine", you get to be all "this isn't an Alpine, it's a Willy-Overland Interalagos", and that will give you an erection.

Apparently there are several versions, the French being the one with the fewer examples. I guess that's how they financed the A110's development.
Slightly off-topic: I spent 5 days in Argentina last week, in that time I saw something like 3 Novas in in very nice condition, just running around.

I hear they are particular about how you wax them.

Total obscurestest-car, considering most people wouldn't even know what an Alpine A110 is, much less an A108.

Nice... My dad went to Chile through Argentina recently and spotted several as well. It's still a possibility, but if I get to go study in the US or Canada, I might just buy one over there and figure the rest later. Worst case scenario, I'll just hide it very well until I figure out how to bring it over or return to the US. Best case scenario, I'll leave under the care of a fellow opponaut with full usability rights, of course.
