Its that you base the reliability of new models based on how the 50 year old, rebuilt the night before, completely untested models behave on a road trip through two countries

Like I just said over there, because my 1968 Mercury has SOOO much in common with my 07 Mercury.

I went from one to the other on Monday and it felt like I got in a Rolls Royce when I went from 68 to 07 because of creature comforts

They are the same, they have 4 wheels that roll, they go forward, reverse, and sometimes side to side

Didn't you know that the last generation sable was powered by a 390FE feeding through a AX4N? Its practically your montego with a round trunk

I haven't read that article, but thats how I do it. My 2002 is actually more reliable than my 2010 Wrangler, and they both have about 45k miles (the BMW on a rebuilt engine). It also gets better MPGs, more MPHs (just barely), is just as practical, gets more smiles/thumbs up, and is just more fun. Obviously they're not even the same brand, but I always think its funny that my 38 year old car is better than my 4 year old car in almost all respects, including reliability... Although they've both blown up second gear at one point.

Why do I have a Jeep, again?

Oh, right. Snow. I forgot about the snow. The '02s only downfall is that it sucks in the snow with the tires I had on it... And the rain... And also heavy wind.

on one hand the 2002 is so simplistic it could probably be rebuilt with a craftsmen socket set. It has like what, 8 electrical wires?

on the other hand, the chrysler is a chrysler

I think 10 wires. 2 headlights, 2 indicators, 2 taillights, gauge lights, horn, and the radio (that I don't have). I've actually been using a Husky wrench/socket set for all of my repairs so far.

Damn you Chrysler. Damn you!

for never stepping into a bmw older than mine I wasn't to far off

meanwhile I have a bundlefuck of harnesses going everywhere. This car could probably wire 10 1985 F body camaros if you took all the wire out.

Ahaha. Yeah, that was a pretty accurate guess. And you could most likely wire every single Model T produced.

I tried to help my friend do some electrical work on his E46. It was the second worst mistake I've ever made, only after taking a Russian history class this semester.
