After reading the article from offroadkarter on “Carolina Squat” I decided to make an informative Picture-Thing about why I think it’s a shitty idea.
Your headlights will point up, you will be viewing up. What the fuck is the point of headlights if you aren’t looking down.
If there so happens to be a Miata, you will not be seen. (Beware Sports Cars)
From predictions, even an smaller Hatch would be barely visible.
Then, I’m not too sure about the correctness of this one. But if you are towing, won’t this happen?
But what’s the conclusion? Well, I have a simple answer for you.
offroadkarters article if you missed it:

It's the West Coast Lean, but with bro trucks.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:50 |

They could, at least, put the lift on the back, and put bigger tires on it. So it'll look like a dragster. They still won't see squat, but it'll look better than this.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:51 |
|
Yeah, Like Reverse-Carolina squat. It would sure as hell be safer.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:52 |
|
You have an ep3 as well?
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:53 |
|
No I don't.
Just a model that I had made.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:54 |
|
Ahhh ok haha
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:55 |
|
Haha, I like them though.
I went Super-Jdm on these. I made another with Mugen seats, and Enkeis.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:56 |
|
Yeah, plus if the engine is still in the front, you could just drag race from light to light. Besides have a bad angle for the headlights, i don't see any cons here....
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:57 |
|
Tailights is the only possible concern though, If somebody rear ends you they'd just go straight under, Haha.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:59 |
|
What program are you making these in?
![]() 04/23/2014 at 15:59 |
|
I used Google Sketchup 7 for them. It's much easier than Blender, Lol.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:00 |
|
I'll have to give it a try
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:02 |
|
Yeah! It's a good product. It's called Trimble Sketchup now actually.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:03 |
|
hmm, curious....lets see...well the head light issue could be solved by putting a roll bar in the bed and angling the lights in the correct direction. for the taillights....you could have a metal post extend downward and attached some trailer lights to it. See problem solve, plus you now have a non-capable off-road truck that looks snappy and original!
No idea of what to call it though, i hear reverse-carolina and i think reverse-cowgirl, not applicable i think....
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:05 |
|
Haha, Reverse-Cowgirl would not be the best name.
Or would it? Hmmmmm.......
That would probably work though.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:09 |
|
Well it bites because if it was called a south-carolina squat, our ingenious invention could be called the north-carolina squat. but since its not.....
how about the virgina squat. I've been to west virgina, they drag race there, and our new creation is essentially a wannabe dragster.
........someone should photoshop our creation...i want to see it...
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:09 |
|
I'm not sure they could squat much more even with a trailer...
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:10 |
|
I'll Shop that up with that model I've got up there ^
West Virginia Squat is the official name, We're onto something.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:11 |
|
i would give you more stars, but kinja keeps denying me that opportunity.
and i would agree, we are. *air high five*
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:14 |

if they had mismatched tire size it would be 150% more obvious that the truck is either 2wd or never sees dirt. You can't mismatch tire sizes on a 4wd/awd anything
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:15 |

I like the overly popular in the 1980's American Racing Outlaw II's on the 2000-2003 GMT800 silverado.

Here, Introducing the "West Virginia Squat" At a funky angle.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:18 |
|
Haha, Right. I thought the Combo would look nice.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:21 |
|
well, i would imagine half the trucks in the u.s. don't even see dirt, so it should be ok. :)
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:25 |
|
HAHAHA, I love it! It creates the allusion of speed, just like any bro-truck in existence....
west virigina squat for the win!
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:31 |
|
its like its permanently towing an invisible trailer...
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:43 |
|
Haha, So do I.
There is serious money to be made here.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:45 |
|
So this fad has a name now. Good. Now that we have labeled it, it should be easier to kill.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:47 |
|
Yes, It is easier to kill your enemies when you can match a name to a face.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:52 |
|
i'd love to see a a carolina squat truck and a west virginia squat truck in a race. ones pulling an invisible trailer, and other thinks its fast. it would be an epic race....
![]() 04/23/2014 at 16:57 |
|
Haha, Dangerousley epic.
![]() 08/25/2014 at 07:23 |

Hmmm. I'm a North Carolina native, travel all over the state for work, and I haven't seen this phenomenon.

![]() 06/15/2015 at 19:30 |
|
How did you make this?
![]() 06/15/2015 at 19:31 |
|
Google Sketchup! I made all the vehicles you see, except for the Airstream and the fireball effect.
![]() 06/15/2015 at 19:33 |
|
Wow, that's good!
![]() 06/15/2015 at 19:34 |
|
Thank ya!
![]() 06/15/2015 at 19:35 |
|
No problem!
![]() 06/15/2015 at 20:47 |
|
Test
![]() 06/15/2015 at 21:02 |
|
Ew.
![]() 06/15/2015 at 21:04 |
|
Then we share the same opinion on this fad.
![]() 06/15/2015 at 21:50 |

Was a prerunner thing that crossed to the streets
![]() 06/15/2015 at 22:06 |

“bro lean”
![]() 06/15/2015 at 22:10 |
|
i knew a kid that did this with an early 90’s f150. then he painted the axel and diff red yellow and blue in honor of BigFoot and the bumper bright green. the rest of the truck was stock two tone white over grey. looked really dumb.
![]() 06/15/2015 at 22:16 |

I have 33s up front and 35s out back on my mighty 4wd 1989 F350 crew-cab, aka ‘Hodor.’
Mainly because I’m really cheap and haven’t found used 35s yet. But also because I don’t use 4wd unless I’m in some real slop, and Hodor ain’t even care.
![]() 06/16/2015 at 02:36 |
|
I sometimes wonder if these brotruck guys wake up in the morning and scream “I WANNA BE THE STUPIDEST MAN ALIVE!!!”
“it will look like i have a really heavy load in my rear”
“just kidding there’s nothing there, just like my personality”
![]() 06/16/2015 at 05:56 |

Share to the warehouse?
![]() 06/16/2015 at 07:26 |
|
Nah, never even bothered. More of a personal hobby than anything else.
![]() 06/16/2015 at 07:48 |
|
What’s GVWR and GCWR for? Ah probably just some legal bullshit
![]() 06/16/2015 at 08:01 |
|
Would those relate to squat?
![]() 06/16/2015 at 08:06 |
|
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (max amount your vehicle can weigh) and Gross Combined Weight Rating (max vehicle + max trailer weight). Usually on the inside of the drivers door you’ll find these values.
![]() 06/16/2015 at 08:10 |
|
Ah, I see.
![]() 06/16/2015 at 08:52 |
|
If your models are to scale give it a go. I used cars I found to great effect in my urban design courses.
![]() 06/16/2015 at 09:35 |
|
technically wouldnt squat anymore then stock, so that wouldnt happen. Hopefully.
![]() 06/16/2015 at 09:49 |
|
one upside to it, is it helps the horrible rear visibility on those trucks.
![]() 06/16/2015 at 10:09 |
|
This is absolutely hilarious.
![]() 06/16/2015 at 12:38 |
|
Well
![]() 06/16/2015 at 12:39 |
|
What about gassers? They’re cool right?
![]() 06/16/2015 at 14:26 |
|
yes
![]() 06/16/2015 at 18:36 |

If you freaking Yankees wouldn’t be logical and lower your sensible cars, this wouldn’t be a problem. (Please notice this is sarcasm)
