I thought I read yesterday that your car does not impress ladies very much...

For shame! You don't need a corporate motor to make big power!

The only ladies that have ever complimented my car are my mom and last weekend a middle aged White woman in a Subaru Baja approached me at a gas pump said my WRX was cute.
I wasn't offended by her "cute" compliment. I think my rattly little runt is pretty endearing.
Cars are dude magnets.
Car enthusiasts should all just be gay. We'd all get laid so much more often.

Yessir! That would still be small by modern poncho standards. There's guys punching aluminum IA blocks to over 600 cubes.

That is just a hair under 10L. That is ENORMOUS!! Big engines are great though. The sound evil and they make for a great show!

The nice thing about the poncho block is that you can do that sort of thing and your external dimensions don't change. A 500+ cube poncho needs no special attention to fitment over a 350 cube poncho. Notable exceptions would be the 301 and to a certain extent any poncho fitted with Ram Air V heads.

That doesn't seem right to me. ONLY 409 to the wheels?! A stock as a rock LS9 makes 638 flywheel ponies and assuming a reasonable 20% driveline loss would put around 510 to the wheels. The 409 equates to about 35% loss which is much too high. This engine even has headers, intake, and likely a performance tune which can easily nab 675hp...this doesn't add up. Either the tune is WAAAY off or the dyno isn't calibrated right.
Sounds and looks great none the less!

Haha no I meant Bandit more than anything I guess, but in general it said only a fifth of women thought someone more attractive after learning what they drove. So "your" was more general than your car specifically!

oooo. ok, i think u meant to comment at the original poster not me directly, which makes more sense.
and for the record my wife is NOT a fan of my muscle car.
She calls it my redheaded girlfriend because it's red and I sneak away to spend time with it.

Yeah that is totally what happened! I read your comment and pressed the first "reply" that I could find.
I guess in a way fun weekend cars that we work on are like girlfriends that wives, etc. have to share time with!

All that custom work and they couldn't paint the inside of the door jambs???
Edit: Oh, it's an old video, and the jambs WERE painted afterwards. But still....

I thought about doing an LS swap on my car before the restore started. But do you know how freaking hard it is to find engines that fit with the shaker scoop? It's really hard! I had to find an original intake and carb just to get the hood to close. Also, those are very expensive and a lot harder to wire up than the Pontiac 400 that I bought for $220 was. YSI, don't worry about ladies. Once my car is painted, I'll have more than enough that I can let you borrow one. /s

Wait, you paid 220 bucks for an entire engine? I gotta get one, just so I can have one.

Engine and transmission. I got everything for the engine from the stock 2 barrel carb on top to the original oil pan. The whole thing was assembled just as it came out of the car. The deal also came with the 4 barrel manifold I needed, the correct year 4 barrel carb for my car, original manifolds, and other parts. Elsewhere I found a set of better flowing heads and picked those up for free. Craigslist is awesome. Of course since I got the engine so cheap I splurged on probably $400 worth of goodies (a big cam, lifters, hei distributor, new timing chain, and headers).

Baby, who cares about the interior. If a car is fun to drive and looks awesome, nothing else matters!! Just need a good seating position.

Too much into this car to overlook that detail. This isn't a once white Chevy C-10 that is now black. BUT yes fun to drive I'm sure.
