When I see something like this, I think, "Man, that looks mint. I wish it had been restored." On the other hand, a lot of cars look pretty, but are way too far gone to restore. And in those cases, repurposing it into a bookcase, desk, bar, or whatever is actually a pretty cool alternative to scrapping it.

The thing is, if the body looks nice enough to be furniture, it's also nice enough with a new drivetrain.

To me it depends on the rarity of the car. Want a Taurus in your living room? Go for it. Want a Ford GT40 in your living room? GTFAC.

Good and bad I'd say. If the car was destined to be scrapped, bring converted to furniture is rational. But just as garage queen with nothing wrong with it, I wouldn't.

That Jag is about the coolest piece of furniture I have ever seen. Can you imagine, though, the bracing that must be present in this wall? But I would do this in a heartbeat with the space/means.

Taking parts out of junk cars: win.

Taking a blown engine and turning it into a table and lamps: total win.

Taking a perfectly good car and cutting it up: fail.

Taking a very rare part and turning it into an ornament: fail.

Sadly, I'll be moving and won't be able to take it with me. If anyone in the Sacramento area wants it, I'll unbolt it from my wall and give it complete.
