So, today I accompanied a dealer outside sales rep and a Mopar colleague to some outside sales calls. I do this regularly, attempting to convert shops from aftermarket to Mopar and Magneti Marelli users. Occasionally, I stumble upon a cool shop. Once I walked into one filled to the brim with all manner of 1950's-70's toys, Americana and collectables. It had been a while since I stepped into a cool filled shop.

Today, while visiting a shop that has a relationship with the dealer, we passed a small Jeep shop in an industrial park. We stopped and found !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . They do modifications and restorations of all manner of 4x4, despite the name. I didn't want to leave!

I agree, I'm a sucker for Waggies and Jeepsters, but I'm an IH guy at heart. This was mine until last year, I miss it every day. I also saw a beautiful silver SII with black flares and two tone in the wild today and a gorgeous red half cab the other day. Lots of Scouts here in Kentucky.

Damnit, there are virtually NONE around here. I've seen 2 or 3 SIIs out in the wild, but as yet have not run across another 800 or 80 besides mine. No wonder I get so many odd looks when I'm out driving, no one around here has any idea what it is.

Louisville was home to IH's engine works so I'm sure that contributes to the number around here. I'm from PA and that's where I lived when I had mine. No one under 30 had a clue, and lots of people thought it was a Bronco. Occasionally, I'd get stopped by an old timer who had one back in the day. I also knew of about 5 80/800s parked or used as parking lot plows, and 5 or 6 II's that sat. This beauty ran around the town I went to school in and was one of the few I'd ever see moving.
