No, this isn't a Craigslist Personals ad!
After about 12 hours of work, and a little help from my neighbor and brother, both motors are out of the Celicas. Both are 20/22R Hybrids (20R head on a 22R block), but the Purple motor runs.
So it's being mated to the W58 attached to the other motor along with the new clutch that's on said motor.
I'm hoping to get them together and back into my blue Celica late this afternoon. That way I can get a few shakedown runs in before I take it to work on Thursday. I also need to do some pressure washing on the trans and engine bay, pretty nasty.

Sweet :) what did you do with the Celica Supra in the end? I can't remember.

It's in the garage awaiting a wirewheeling, new bearings and a rebuilt LSD.

Oh cool :) wheel bearings of crankshaft bearings?
Also, what's the idea behind the 20R head on the 22R block? I know pretty much nothing about these engines :S

Wheel bearings, etc. Basically planning on doing a full rebuild on it since it's out of a 1979 Supra, I know the pinion seal is bad (it's leaking all over the garage), and I assume the bearings need to be replaced just due to age/wear.
The 20R head on the 22R block is supposed to increase compression (some say it does, others say it doesn't). The purple motor has been ported & polished, bored .30 over, oversize valves, Delta 272 cam... The other motor is very similar but has a Delta 292 cam. It's having issues though, hence the swap.

Gotcha. What sort of power do you reckon each one makes?

Sweet :) should be pretty damn quick then. Those Celicas didn't weigh much.
