I just searched 308s on ebay. I was not prepared for them to be so cheap. Help. I have a ferrari problem. I'm starting to add up in my head if i sold everything that i own that isn't clothes, and, like, maybe 3 pairs of shoes, or my bed, I could TOTALLY afford one. Here's where the problem comes in- I have a tenuous grasp on reality at best, and I'm starting to do the maths in my head and holy shit I may actually sell all my shit for a ferrari.

The one I was around did. I got a ride in a 430 Scuderia a few weeks ago, and I've gone from anti-ferrari to loving the damn things. Just go for it dude. Even if It's only a few months

The 308 is cheap.

Me no care how much it costs to maintain.

For under $40K you can have a car that looks exactly like a 288 GTO.

Invest moar money and you can add forced induction. You'll need to make sure not to drive more than a day a week as the engine will blow sooner than later. But it will still be way cheaper than the real thing. Who cares if it's fake? Who cares if the engine is mounted the wrong way compared to the GTO? Not me. It would still be awesome.

I've worked on and driven a couple Ferraris. The best was driving Guissepi Risi's(Risi Competezione TUSCC LMGT) 288 GTO from a storage/detail place to Ferrari of Houston one weekend with my current boss. He used to be the general manager of FOH for many years. That specific 288 GTO was the last one ever built. Other sheet was an ex customer of my boss brought with 550 in and I did a radiator/condensor for it. Also, a 512 of his needed rear shocks and an alignment. Those were a bitch to do but I did them, aligned it, and took it on my usual route for test drives. It drove pretty bad. Actually, quite awful but a cool car none the less.

I'm just as broke as the next dude buddy. Aint no money in the car repair biz unless you are the owner. But one day dagnabbit. an older model is my number one pick. One day :'(

yup, it was the last one to roll out of production. Fellow Opponaut reigntastic saw it at the last cars and coffee.

Here is a quick story. When heading to Road Atlanta to a Rolex LMGT race, Guiseppi Risi told my current boss to load his golf cart and the 288 GTO. They put in one of the giant Risi Compt. 18 wheelers, tied it down, and they were off. Upon arrival, the first thing out was the golf cart...WHICH WAS NOW LOOSE!!! My boss's heart dropped. He asked the crew to help get the cart down and check on Guiseppi's 288 GTO.... front bumper was damaged :X After some investigation , they figured out who strapped it down. He said he was positive everything was good but it clearly wasn't. My boss then had to make the call to Guissepi. He dials and tells him that the golf cart came loose and damaged a car. "which car?" Guissepi said. My boss said, "The 288..." CLICK. Guiseppi just hung up.

holy crap, I would of shit my pants. They did get it fixed but holy crap that must have been stressful.

LOL. I was being serious. I am 6'3 245 and fitting in this gen Ferrari is a stretch. Kind of hard to clutchy-footy for me and that was part of the deal-breaker. That and having to tune an 80's Ferrari is either a bitch to do yourself or expensive to pay somebody else to do.
