As shown the test went a bit tits-up when, instead of crashing level as planned, the left wing impacted first and dug in, rotating the plane

Looking at videos like this makes you realise the in flight safety demonstrations are of no use in most circumstances. Even if you land in a lakebed of pillows at that speed, you're still screwed.

despite the flame it was still largely a success. The blades went through an engine or two and fuel that had the anti-mist separated burned. That helped the rest of the fuel burn. Temperatures from the fire were lower than would have been otherwise.

Aircraft crash worthiness as one of my interests when in school.

The inside of the cabin didn't burn. See F86sabre above. The test was mostly a success but the footage did a huge PR damage.
