And it just so happened to stop on by my workplace today. It sounded glorious on start up. Also in person it is ALOT wider, and is smaller in hieght then what it appears. And before anyone asks, no I did not get a chance to ride or drive it unfortunately.
Edit: And here is another GT a coworker and I both saw, but he was fortunate enough to get a picture of

Yeah, the first time I saw a GT40 I was surprised by how short it is. And how big the tires are. And how much I wanted to steal it and how beautiful the engine is and ...so on and so forth...

That's where the "40" came from. It was the height of the roofline in inches.

The car is absolutely gorgeous and the back glass exposes the ludicrous supercharger and the rear tires were a mythical 315/40 on 19 inch rims i do believe.

They are awesome, and I was fortunate enough to ride in one. I haven't been the same since. Also, the Ford GT is 44.3" tall compared to the GT40 which is 40.5" tall. The Ford GT is approximately 15% larger in most dimensions than the GT40. The more you know! ;D

I'll always remember the first time I saw one in person in high school. Ford brought one buy to show off since it was a STEM school. Widest tires I had ever seen to that point so my jaw was on the ground. Then my face melted when they fired the car up.
A few years later, I got to sit in one on the dealer floor. It was a spiritual experience.

How did I even forget about tagging this as $kybait, thanks for the info, and what was it like riding in one?

It was an experience I'll never forget. My local Ford dealer got one in for a customer, so it was a fairly gentle ride in town. He got on it just a little at the stop lights. Just wow! There were several vehicles that followed us until we returned to the dealership. They had never seen anything like it and wanted to know all about it. I've never even seen another one since, but I do live in a very small town.
