I need to vent (tl;dr warning)

Bear with me if you can and give me some insights. You see, I'm at the end of the rope with my job. I feel like I haven't learned much and that they'll never give me anything awesome to do, like engines (we don't do rebuilds and stuff that needs the engine to be a bit teared down), diffs and transmissions. It's always lights, mirrors, brakes and smaller stuff. Ok, I'm slow at first but as soon as I learn how to do the repair, I keep getting faster and faster to fix the same issue or something comparable....but it never happens. I do one thing and then I never do it again while they give the job to someone that does it regularly, so I never improve. I never heard of my jobs failing or being bad so why? I tend to be a perfectionnist...so sometimes I redo the work 2-3 times until it's to my liking, but that's when I do something for the first time. Now I'm way worst than when I was just out of school, I feel like I became dumb. I'm scared to go check for something else since I feel like I wont be good enough at other places. I was an Ace in adjusting diffs in one shot at school...now? I don't even remember shit and I don't wanna touch them no more. I can't risk not be able to pay the car, my toolbox and the credit card for the next 4yrs...that's why I wanted stability and that I gotta stay despite being really depressed somewhat at work. The pay is ok...but all my friends that works in the same field makes way much more money than me and I feel that I'll never see a raise there. Then you got 2 mechanics that just keeps watching my repairs and steps in my bubble out of nowhere to show me their way to do it for their goddamn ego. These are the same guys that kept talking bad about new mechanics which I defended! Their excuses is "I just wanna help you, because I think it's better this way", YOU THINK! I DON'T! You can take many roads to go to the same fix and no one is the same. They forgot about that. I became more violent also...I can't stand these 2 guys and if they approch me to says whatever the hell crosses their mind, I just flip out inside and my day becomes 100x worst...I can't sleep well and I'm EXTREMELY tired by the 2nd day of work. I hate having to wake up at 5h30 in the morning to start at 7 and finish at 5h30 (we never know because of overtime) in the evening Friday to Monday...I haven't seen most of my friends for a solid year. Everyone is busy on weeks and everyone goes out on weekends. I had to refuse all the time because I was way too tired. Today I was supposed to see a group of friends that I haven't seen for a good while and that I always declined their events or chilling because of work. I had to be at the place for 6 pm...I left work at 5:55 pm. I go home take a shower and text them that I'm going as soon that I'm done showering and stuff. I received a text saying that they can't wait...they're already in, forget about it. I just felt like shit. I was looking forward to this but once again...I mess it up. This is why I was driving around and made a photo shot while listening to blues...I had to cool off. If I could drop everything there (car,toolbox) and go to school as a car designer and have a good stressless job...I'd do it. I just dunno what to do about all this.

I usually don't. But the radio station was playing blues and it felt refreshing and it calmed me down. I don't know much about blues...wait....that's considered blues?

Blues is a very broad term.

This is more "blues-y" than straight up "blues". Definitely some Led Zeppelin influences. But Blues influenced Rock, so... uh... well it's a good song, whatever it is.

If you want really old stuff, Blind Willie McTell and Robert Johnson were kind of the biggies. As far as modern people go, the White Stripes and the Black Keys do a lot of bluesy type stuff, especially on their earlier records. But there's so much more in between.

I was in a similar situation with my last job. I stuck it out for 3 years, but it only got worse. Now that I've switched to something else, I'm the happiest man alive. Switching from a rotten, degrading job is well worth other compromises you might have to make.

From the looks of it, you're being mistreated. No one is supposed to be stressed out in a stress-free working environment. I'd advise you address this to your manager because it's his or her responsibility to monitor the working condition and safety. If the manager can't address this to the staff, then start considering applying for a job at the shop that your friends work at. Unnecessary stress is the last thing you need in your life. Don't let stress blind you from those who care and love you.
