Don't even try to tell me that the owner isn't here on Jalopnik...

Read for yourself and tell me otherwise. If you are reading this Mr. 1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata LOW Mileage Owner, thank you for writing that short story that your wife didn't want.
As far as NPOCP goes, I'll be honest and say that it's a fair estimate for its low mileage. Not a great price, but a little bargaining for that bodywork can make for a NP.

CP. That rust is HORRENDOUS, as is the rest of the body. I did e-mail him about the '86 Windstar though.

I think its BS he is selling the hardtop for $1,000 ALONE! Are they really worth that?

I see what you mean - I honestly didn't even look at all the photos until you brought up the point. With this in mind, sure, I could probably agree moreso on CP. The main reason I said it was bordering on NP was because of the low mileage. For me personally though, I'll take a higher mileage Miata at a cheaper price anyday.
I wanna hear what he says about the 86 Windstar ;)

Yeah, they generally are.
I never knew that they were $1200 back in the day (that's a tad over $2k in current USD) but there is certainly a lucrative market for them today. The best bet for getting one is honestly to find someone selling a crappy NA who doesn't know how much the hardtop is worth. Buy the $2000-$3000 hardtop NA, take the hardtop, flip the car (if you have one already).

Really good to know! I've seen a few in my area that were bad cars with the hardtop going for around $1500. Could take the roof, scrap the rest, and make profits!

Great Sacks of Balls, good man - this is why I don't live in the north. This cancer right here.
