A complaint about my local theme park

Kinja'd!!!

So my local Six Flags has a total of 9 roller coasters. The amount I can ride? 4.

Now I'm not a small person whatsoever, I'm 6'3" and weigh about 320 pounds, but for god's sake, big people like roller coasters, too!

What really pisses me off is that some rides have both a harness and a seat belt, the harness will click three times, but the belt won't be long enough to buckle. I'm sorry, but shouldn't the belt be able to buckle for even the furthest position? I mean that would make sense, but why would they want to do that?

I know some theme parks have cars specifically for people like me. Busch Gardens in Florida, for example. Why can't Six Flags have something like that here? They change the car design every few years, so why not do something like this next time 'round? The big coaster enthusiasts would thank you!

I'm almost exactly your size and I feel your pain. The worst is when you're at someplace you don't know and wait in line forever only to discover that you can't ride.

I miss SF STL, went there a lot as a kid. I rode The Boss the first year it came out, what a rush that was.

At least they managed to do that right.

I've literally screamed a few times that's happened, then promptly left the park.

That's my favorite, and one of the ones I can actually ride! Damn that things tough on your back and neck though!

They design them so that the 95th percentile of people are safe and comfortable. If you're too small or too large, you might not be able to fit and/or be safe. They can't always accommodate everybody, which is why the + size cars exist on other RCs. Calling Six Flags asshats isn't fair to them. Just because Cadillac built the Eldo Coupe doesn't mean it will fit in every parking space.

Of all the theme parks I've been to, Six Flags seem to be the only ones who don't have those cars. Busch Gardens and Worlds of Fun had them, why can't a HUGE company like Six Flags?

It was nasty as a pre-teen and I bet it's only gotten harsher with its age and wear. Screamin Eagle gave me nasty raspberry on my sides the first time I rode it. Checking the wiki for the park, I'm surprised and pleased to hear they have some new coasters since I was last there nearly a decade ago!

So, someone is overweight to the point they can't fit in a harness and it is the designer's fault?

It would be nice if people took responsibility for themselves. If you are too big to fit do something about it. If you don't want to then don't complain.

I take total responsibility for my size, and I'm doing something about it. In the mean time, I'd be nice to be able to enjoy myself at theme parks. Not to mention 90% of the time it's my shoulders or legs that are causing the issue. So you can kindly go fuck yourself.
