That didn't work out. I wanted to do the cowl on my hood with black plastidip. The first try was too cold and it was terrible. So, I took it all off, cleaned it again, and masked it off. Let it sit all day to warm up. When I got back to it, I managed to lay down a beautiful coat.

I tried to take off the tape. That's when it went sour, because overspray on the tape pulled on dip I wanted and peeled it in places.

With no real way to save it, I decided to take it all off. That, that was a process in itself.

I did everything I possibly could to do it right, considering it's my first time with Plastidip. I might try it later, or I might just leave it be.

You need to peel it off while it is still wet. What I did when masking was make multiple layers of tape. Do a coat and peel a layer of tape, then repeat.

I tried to not let it dry but maybe I took too long.

This is basically my experience with everything like this. Similar thing happened with dip to me, peeled up an edge, couldn't save it, pulled all the dip.

Tonight I was trying to make a pad for my door armrest out of foam and fake leather and could not get it to look right. Tried 3 different times, gave up for now.

Back to the plastidip, the multiple layers of tape idea seems to be popular. Put multiple layers of tape, then the second you finish a coat peel off a layer.
