So after everyone told me that the air suspension would crap out on me I've crossed out the first gen Audi Allroad. However if anyone knows any good lifted wagon type things that I could get for around $10,000 (preferably with AWD) that I could reliably daily drive, I would love to know.

The problem with Subaru is that the nearest dealer is about 200 miles away.

Your criteria is rather specific there. If you don't want an Audi or Scooby, you might have to settle for a crossover. Sadface.

don't worry about dealer location. What you need to do is find an independent shop that works on subarus.

Gotta agree w/ Automatch Tom on this one. The Outback is a great car, but a lot less refined than the Allroad. If you want a car that's just as pleasant to drive in all conditions, but far more reliable, it has to be the Volvo XC70 .

Subaru Forrester or Outback
XJ Jeep Cherokee
Volvo XC70

Stock Cherokees are smaller and lower than you'd think, hell they barely weigh 3000lbs. You can get a reliable one and still have enough money left over for a miata, and the 4.0L Straight 6 will run for 50,000 miles with no oil or coolant in it.
