Been stuck on this stupid rig for 28 days now. Really need to go home and work on the Doge. My time here was extended for a few days by this stupid fucker:
If any of you ever end up working on an oil rig please be careful not to drop allen wrenches down the drill pipe, they tend to break things.
Sorry about this, just getting stir crazy. Really need this job to end and to see my house again.
Just a few more days, just a few more days.
/rant.

I'm actually a little excited to work on a rig in the future Haha. Then again I used to be excited about college and I hate it right now.

Sorry, my bad. I wanted to hear the noise it made bouncing down the pipe.
It wasn't even that great.

You'll get over that excitement pretty quickly. The money is fantastic, everything else about working on a rig sucks. Who are you hiring on with?

Also if you end up working on a rig dont be an oaf and put the wrong guidance tape in your bikini.

I made some great noises while I was screaming at my screens because my MWD tool wasn't working correctly. You should have come down to my shack, might have been worth it then.

More trouble for the rig crew than for me, but they have a schedule. I don't. I want to go home.

Isn't that pretty much the first line in any IKEA instruction manual?

Well I'm still a college student right now, but I want to work with Chevron, BP or Schlumberger in the future.

What are you looking to do once you hire on with one of those companies? I work for Schlumberger, I can offer some guidance. Whatever you do don't be tempted into taking a job with BHP Billiton, the most incompetent company I've ever seen.
EDIT: We've talked about this before. You should still have my email address, feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.

So what does the 'Doge' need? New liver? prosthetic ear? New Shibe speak unit? You're not gonna do that work with a crowbar are you? If so...wow.

The Doge has no spark. I think I've narrowed it down to the ignition control module or the crankshaft position sensor. I've ordered both, they should be waiting for me when I get home.
