You get back into car dealer mode for a second and lose all ability to control the words coming out of your mouth! Why do I now have a really gross taste in my mouth? Okay, shake it off, shake it off. So on today's !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , we have the 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab, our first truck in the series and I think if I'm not mistaken and I shouldn't be because I have the list right in front of me the only truck of this series! So, truck people, pay attention you won't get this service again.
( Trucks? Trucks!)
The 1500 is Ram's entry level truck. It's priced the cheapest, but still is built to some pretty crazy specs like the towing capability mentioned above. But a question that I actually hear a lot from friends when they ask me what they should get and I say a truck, they always come back with, but doesn't that kind of compromise the rest of the car/SUV function I need? Let me tell you not with this truck. If you think the back of a Mercedes S Class is roomy and hot dam it is, you will step out of that and into this and feel Mercedes somehow jipped you on rear seat legroom and comfort. Seriously, this truck could only have more legroom if it were classed as a house. You could hold a small beach party in the back of it and never interfere with the driver or passenger. It is obscenely huge in the rear seats. I feel that the truck's roominess would be perfect for a long haul with either workers, or a family on vacation. They could both store all their gear in the bed of the truck and not have to worry about being cramped inside with all their stuff lying on top of their laps. Recently I took a road trip, not by choice, from D.C. to Chicago and we had a Ford Expedition. The Expedition indeed lived up to its namesake with blizzards and all, and had quite a bit of space being that the SUV is 18ft long. This Ram however puts the rear and front seats legroom to shame.
( TO SHAME! )
The dash is adorned how you would expect a truck's dash to be adorned. It means business and really shows it. There are no exotic trims, no brushed aluminum, no carbon fiber, and no real anything to speak of. Everything is chunky and bulky made to stand up to whatever anyone can throw at it. Everything is purposeful in build and quality something more car manufacturers should take a look at doing. Far too many cars today have an interior build quality of a Target brand bookshelf, don't blow on it. The dash is laid out perfectly and is easily accessible. As the driver, all of the buttons and knobs you need are within your arms length. It also has a built in trailer brake adjustment feature, which is wonderful to have, especially when you're hauling around large 20ft plus trailers. With most cars I have reviewed in this series, the steering wheels have all been a bit of a letdown. They are either too chunky or too full of buttons. This steering wheel because it's in a truck, actually feels right for its size compared to the vehicle it's attached too. The wheel is big, but you don't feel like you're driving a bus, like you do in the new Subaru Forester. It feels right.
( The wheels on the bus go round and round...NOT HERE! )
If you were blindfolded and thrown in the back of this truck, you would think you were in a Range Rover. As soon as you took the blindfold off, you would know exactly what you were in not because there isn't leather, a drinks tray, or refrigerator. Rather, my only real beef with this truck is the lack of a fold down front passenger seat to become a workbench and the pervasive use of the Ram logo on every surface they could think of. It's on the dash, the steering wheel, the carpets, the seats, and a few hundred more times on the exterior of the truck. The 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab is an amazing vehicle it's capable on and off road, it has the towing capacity to restart the Sun's thermonuclear core, and is one of the most spacious cabins I have ever been in, including a real log cabin. It's a great truck and I hope Andrew doesn't mind, but I am giving it my Truck Yeah seal of approval!
( TRUCK YEAH !)

I do, and I own boots, and other manly things! But at the time, we had to meet her parents afterwards, so we couldn't be as rugged as we usually are!

But if you wore rugged attire, you could intimidate the chai-tea-sipping parents and bend them to your will.
You didn't think this through.
