Well, that would be an alienating design element and I honestly don't believe continuous left-to-right lights are legal. I suppose I'm overanalyzing your 'shop a bit.

Early 90s Mercurys had a continuous full width light up front so I don't see why it wouldn't be legal

Well that was 20 years ago and 20 years can bring a lot of rule changes. I don't know, you may be right, but I know the tail lights have to be separated

Except for all the Lincolns and Dodges that do have a full width taillight. Like the 2015 MKC, 2015 Navigator, as well as the Dart, Carger and Durango equipped with race track lighting.
