This is why I was up for 40 hours yesterday, we filmed and edited this video. It is Jalop as it deals with drinking and driving. I think it's not bad for being written, filmed, and edited by 15 high schoolers. Once you get past the first few minutes of set up the stuff gets better. Of note, in the aftermath of the crash scene there are 4th gen WS6 Trans Am wheels on the monte carlo.

I've only watched like 2 minutes worth by skipping through, but this is damn good quality for a high school production.

In high school, I probably would have laughed a bit, but as a parent... Chilling and the realization of a nightmare for any parent.

Good work, good work indeed!

(Also, a high school production, wtf, how! when did high schools get budgets for stuff like this!)

We had the audience in tears. Not kidding, there were boxes of kleenax being passed around. We all own Canon DSLRs, some of the guys own high quality mics, we edited on Adobe Premiere Pro one of our guy's super computers, crashed cars were donated by the local scrap yard, the two fire and three police departments volunteered for the event, taxes (presumably) paid for the rest of the production. It was a whole school event, we just turned it into a story and filmed it.

The wtf was more amazement btw, I am in no way disappointed. I am so very happy to see school money pay for something good like this instead of just say football...

Again, awesome work. I hope it home for someone, anyone and saves some lives.

We had $6000 total or so to put on this whole production so we did splurge a little and got some awesome equipment for my film class like our camera boom that is used for smooth glide shots.

Chills...

My goodness, that was phenomenal. Maybe a little too good. I was not ready for that. It was much more emotional than I expected. Was that judge's speech at the end written by a high schooler? It was very well-written and realistic, intense without being preachy. The people involved (including you) have some real talent.

I noticed the segment at 11:30 mentioned "texting while driving", which was confusing. Not sure if I fully understood the grim reaper sequence.

I think the speech was impromtu but I'm not sure. Yeah, there is a little context that needed to be added for the texting and grim reaper. The program focuses mostly on drinking but has a hint of texting awareness thrown in for good measure. The grim reaper bit is part of the school production and was requested by the administration to be part of the video. The reaper pulls people from class that were "killed in an accident." The crash in the video is suppose to be an example of what one of those crashes is like. Continuity is a bit of a problem given our requirements are and the time frame but it's the best we could do. The acting by students could use some work though...

the student actors were actually a lot better than I expected. Either that or your editing covered it up well.

It's interesting the administration needed that segment there. I suppose it acts as a dream sequence kind of deal.

Again, great video!
