Audi's interesting integration and use of interior LED lights

Audi has been using layered inlays in their higher end models for a few years now. Now, what if you incorporated LED lighting into those inlays and within the steering wheel to warn drivers of potential objects in blind spots or as another form of alerting the driver?

I'm not a fan of that veneer. It would look far better if it was a solid wood panel, rather than a bunch of lines.

I might like the light if it had a thin layer on top so there weren't lines in the wood when the light is on, but even then I think it's too much.

I personally prefer the dark layered wood and aluminium inlays (see below) a lot more and agree that it would look better if it were light either above or below the inlays themselves. I think it's more of a design study at this point.
