So, First round was a bust.
And after some thinking, ive started looking for MazdaSpeed Miatas now.
This car has 75,000 miles on it. 1-owner. and carfax lists all the maintenance done. Looks very well taken care of. Price is higher than KBB thinks it should be. but a quick search of MSM's for sale shows that they are all running high. and this is priced quite well.
Thoughts?

Same dealer had 7 miatas, most are newer. You can get a 91 for 10k! CP all the way. But I don't know much about the mazdaspeed versions. Drop by and do a little haggling, see what happens.

Local guy in CO got a smoking deal on an MSM a couple of months ago, $6500. That price seems to be the exception, though. Good luck in your search. Have you just been looking at NBs and decided to look at MSMs as well, or were NAs in your initial search, too?

Holy crack pipe!!! Yes MSM are rare and more "sporty" but they are not worth almost double of what you would pay for a normal NB with less miles.

Trouble is. I cant find an 01+ NB Miata for half the price. They are 8-10k. so 12k isnt that far of a jump really.

NA's were out. i owned one. done with that.
I wanted a 01+ NB. but after searching around, the 01+ NB's with LSD's in them all run 8-10k. depending on miles and conditions. and a MSM at 12k isnt that far off. That was my reasoning. If i can find a decent 01+ NB miata for ~7k. id buy that. But at 10 for a normal, i think 12 for a speed is worth it.

Boston, MA. searching within 200 miles doesnt provide promising results. I went to go check out a few NB's in the $8,000 range and they were absolute JUNK.

From a previous MSM owner: to look for one of these, go to www.mazda-speed.com and prowl the classifieds for one. Enthusiast owned MSMs are better because the owners do small mods to them that make them hugely better cars. Out of the box, the MSM is probably the poorest performing factory turbo car. If you haven't driven one before, prepare to be underwhelmed. After you tune on them a little bit, they get much better, but are limited by their absolutely shit non-flashable ECU.
I sold mine on that forum for 14,500 two years ago. It had less than 20,000 miles and THOUSANDS in tasteful mods. AFCO suspension, roll bar, Exige seats, etc.
Get an enthusiast owned one and don't buy from any dealer. That silver one you linked is overpriced two-fold.
