How many times are they going to heavily refresh this car? It's ridden on the same basic platform since, what, 2006? Don't get me wrong, it's a great looking car and it's been much improved over the years, but it's just getting a little long in tooth for my tastes. Not as bad as an Impala Limited but with this newest refresh I fear we may be close.

Look! I now have all these LED's! That must mean I am one of the cool kids now! Seriously, it's a great looking front end. Dodge says they had left no panel untouched, however, I am not all that convinced.

Same basic profile. I know it's just a refresh and the hard points are not usually touched, but it just looks old already to me. Maybe if the Interior had been more significantly upgraded I would be satisfied? The way I am bitching this morning though, that seems unlikely.

This rear looks oddly more bloated to me. Glad they kept the racetrack tails though. Those are the bees knees. Maybe it drives significantly better than before too?

Kinja'd!!!

I'm just not that impressed. It's probably just me.

Or it has something to do with how I feel like crap today. Something isn't right with my heart rhythm again and I think the lack of oxygen to my head is becoming a problem.

What say you?

Since it is an established police cruiser it will probably continue riding on the same platform for many years to come.

It is just you. They don't have the money of a full redesign quite yet and the facelift is better than letting the car remain stagnant. I never understood the obsession for new platforms every 4 years. Let something simmer and cook. The longer the wait the better it is.

That makes sense for them but not really the public at large. I understand why they are doing it but I still don't really care for it. But you do what sells I guess.

Though I tend to agree with you on most of that, I feel like the interior could have been upgraded a bit. I understand it's a relatively budget car but I'm not a fan of the dash board design and implementation. I too agree that platforms should be updated instead of replaced. Much in the way the Cobalt/Delta was updated for the Cruze/DeltaII. It's still the same basic bones but a lot better.

Hahaha, I just love that you added the part about the taillights. I was hearing people bitching about the tracklights: "wahhhh it looks like a Dart, I thought they were going away from those??" No pleasing everyone.

Yea I agree its old, but I also still like the looks of it, and since its essentially all by itself offering RWD I like it (the SS will never have the same volume only coming a v8).

I suspect though that is because it, the 300 and a new Alfa are all supposed to on the same platform soon. Obviously that only got started a couple years ago. Or at least I read that somewhere about Fiat/Chrysler's product planing.

I personally like the look of the new interior. Besides this car is for fun and burnouts not the interior.

Well said. I guess it's in the details for me. Where the dash meets the doors and the overall materials used are not ones I am fond of. Just comes down to personal preference I guess.

Fair enough. The platform itself isn't bad. It's a little heavy, however, what today isn't? The SS Needs a V6 and a manual option.

Well thanks! Indeed about no pleasing anyone. I think they look awesome. Anytime I see them on the road I must follow.

counterpoint: I think it looks badass, especially the running lights around the headlamps and the racetrack tail lights.

Indeed, it's a great looking car. My main point was that it could use more. But the reasons given in the comments make me think it's just the interior that annoys me so much.

That hashtag just reminded me of the derpiest derp face. Not sure why. May make some sense.

The 2011 Charger got a complete re-body. Not a single exterior panel interchanges between the 2006-10 and the 2011-on. I think they moved away from the Benz-derived rear suspension in that change, too. They actually changed the platform designation from "LX" to "LY" in the process.

Personally, I think the Charger looks bang-up-to-date. It'll take more and more going forward to keep it fresh and competitive. But for now, I think it's great.

And just for your frame of reference, the 300 is a year older.

I can't stand this right here. Make it go straight back or do something else entirely, Dodge!

Yeah. It looks like an afterthought. Doesn't really fit with the overall shape of the car.
