I haven't quite decided who I'm going to root for since my precious Sabres won't be in it. I usually root for Detroit - just because of the respect I have for an organization that is able to maintain such levels of competition without needing high picks in the draft.

I like the Hawks as well because one of their star players - Patrick Kane - is from Buffalo, but I went to school with his cousin and his cousin was was an arrogant douchebag.

I'm also considering rooting for the Blues this year for the first time because Miller is their goalie and even with his departure, he still remains my favorite goalie in the entire league and I wish him nothing but success.

Hmmm...decisions, decisions.

I started watching last year and wanted to choose a team (I'm in the UK so was basically a random choice). Would've went with boston since I'm a pats fan but seemed kinda cheap since the first season i watched they got to the stanley cup finals... My roommate is an isles fan but since they're not in the playoffs I suppose I'll just watch it from a neutral standpoint like last year.

As an Illinoisian living 15 minutes from where the Hurricanes play(ed)...go Hawks! I was also was Detroit and Colorado fan growing up, for no particular reason. But college converted me. And the fact that I was bartending last year during the final game made for a good night...I kind of owe it to them.
